WWE Rumors: WWE NXT and WWE Superstars Equal $9 Million?
WWE released their third quarter financial earnings today to the public. This is usually pretty big news in my eyes. I look forward to this every three months.
I am a man who goes by numbers. I like to read data and try to understand the business side of everything. Again, I like to stick to actual stories and not "fantasy book" too much.
No "John Cena turns heel" article (predicted about 8,000 times for the past few years) from me! No mention of "Undertaker must lose at Wrestle Mania" articles from me! Nothing like that...I stick to numbers and reality.

That is why I love it when WWE releases their revenue reports every three months for each "quarter." It lets me see what is working and what isn't working with WWE in 2011.
It isn't about "what I would book" or how "so and so should get pushed more." Who cares about all that stuff? WWE is a business, and they need to make money to survive. That's all it comes down to in the end.
WWE had a nice quarter. Their numbers reflect a couple of decreases across the board, but they are still making millions. In a recession, any company still making money is a plus. Also, it has been no secret WWE is in a "transition period" with the youth movement on WWE TV, as well as Vince McMahon being inevitably replaced by Triple H and Stephanie McMahon to run the company.
That brings me to one interest tidbit I read. According to the report, WWE not having WWE NXT and WWE Superstars on TV took away $9 million from their TV rights. Have no fear, WWE TV rights fees still totaled over $34 million, but the absence of two "throwaway" shows cost them even millions more.
That jumped out at me as a huge shocker! I understand WWE Raw and SmackDown bring in the real money, but NXT and Superstars? Wow.
I always enjoyed the shows. No, I don't watch them online anymore. I thought Superstars was a great show for talent to wrestle and earn some TV time. It also recapped the bigger shows, just in case.
I also loved the first few seasons of NXT. The "all girls" season of NXT was probably the greatest couple months of television I have ever witnessed. I would count down the seconds each week until that show was on. I am serious! It was that good...
In conclusion, this financial report was a huge wake-up call to a loot of fans (including myself) that would slam NXT and/or Superstars. Again, it all comes down to the bottom line at the end of the day.
WWE not airing these shows right now is costing them millions! I would love to see them get back on the air in the United States, but I think WWE is banking on their new WWE Network for these.
What do you folks think? Are NXT and Superstars worthy of being back on the air? Are you surprised these two equal $9 million in revenue for WWE? Let me know in the comment section...
