Chris Cariaso (@chriscariasomma) vs. Vaughan Lee (@vaughanlovelee)

Chris Leben vs. Mark Munoz

1 of 10

Mark Munoz defeats Chris Leben by technical knockout (corner stoppage) at 5:00 of the second round.

Munoz's ground and pound propelled him to a fourth straight victory in the middleweight division. After the out was stopped due to a cut above Leben's left eye, Munoz told UFC commentator Joe Rogan that he feels he is ready for a title shot against UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva.

Leben tried to fight through the cut that prevented him from seeing, but his corner decided to stop the fight after the second round. Leben has now lost two of his last three fights despite winning all three of his bouts in 2010.

Munoz's wrestling makes him a serious threat to compete for the middleweight title, but many would argue that Chael Sonnen is a more deserving and intriguing contender.

Brad Pickett vs. Renan Barao

2 of 10

Renan Barao defeats Brad Pickett by submission (rear naked choke) at 4:09 of the first round.

Brazilian bantamweight Barao is approaching an incredible 30-fight undefeated streak, so a title shot appears to be in his immediate future.

A dangerous black belt in jiu-jitsu, Barao's striking was also impressive at UFC 138, as a well-timed knee began the troubles for Pickett.

After taking nearly one year away from the sport, Pickett has to disappointed with the loss in his UFC debut in front of his fellow countrymen. The British fighter has now lost two of his past three bouts.

Thiago Alves vs. Papy Abedi

3 of 10

Thiago Alves defeats Papy Abedi by submission (rear naked choke) at 3:32 of the first round.

After losing three of his previous four fights, Alves finally got back on track with a win over UFC newcomer Abedi at UFC 138.

Alves rocked Abedi with a right hand and secured the first submission of his UFC career. A loss to Rick Story in his past appearance knocked Alves out of the elite ranks of the welterweight division, but this victory should propel Alves back in the right direction to reclaim his spot as a 170-pound contender.

Coming into his UFC debut, Abedi had won all of his eight professional fights. The first loss of his MMA career would be a major setback against most opponents, but there's no shame in losing your first fight to Alves.

Cyrille Diabate vs. Anthony Perosh

4 of 10

Anthony Perosh defeats Cyrille Diabate by submission (rear naked choke) at 3:09 of the second round.

Perosh had some trouble taking Diabate to the ground initially, but once the Australian found himself on the ground with the Frenchman, he was able to score his second straight submission victory.

Diabate had won five straight fights coming into the UFC, but he has now lost two of his past three bouts. Diabate is a world-class striker, but his ground game is lacking against UFC-level competition.

Since moving to light heavyweight, Perosh has found much more success with being able to take his opponents to the canvas, where he is much more comfortable than being on his feet.

Terry Etim vs. Edward Faaloloto

5 of 10

Terry Etim defeats Edward Faaloloto by submission (guillotine choke) at 0:17 of the first round.

After missing more than 18 months with injuries, Etim wasted no time in dismantling Faaloloto in front of his compatriots at UFC 138.

Etim attacked from the opening bell, and when Faaloloto looked to take the fight to the ground, Etim locked up a deep guillotine choke that forced his opponent to tap in under twenty seconds.

With three straight losses, Faaloloto's release from the UFC seems likely. Conversely, Etim seems primed to fulfill the expectations that he was beginning to build up for himself before losing to Efrain Escudero in April 2010.

John Maguire vs. Justin Edwards

6 of 10

John Maguire defeats Justin Edwards by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27).

Making his UFC debut in his home country of England, Maguire used his solid ground game to pick up a victory. It's not often that British fighters enter the UFC with such strong grappling ability, but Maguire showed that not all British fighter are purely strikers.

Edwards landed a spinning back kick and dropped Maguire with a right hook early in the first round. However, Maguire recovered a outgrappled Edwards for the remainder of the fight. In the second and third rounds, Maguire took Edwards' back multiple times and looked for the rear naked choke, but Edwards defended nicely.

Maguire has now won five straight fights and could be a very solid addition to the 170-pound division. For Edwards, this loss was his second in three appearances. The former contestant on "The Ultimate Fighter" has developed a reputation for starting fights strong and fading in the later rounds.

Rob Broughton vs. Philip De Fries

7 of 10

Philip De Fries defeats Rob Broughton by unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28).

Taking a second fight in slightly more than one month did not pay off for Broughton, who replaced Oli Thompson in a bout with De Fries.

Broughton had a strong showing in the second round, when he tapped De Fries in a crucifix position and threatened with a straight armbar attempt. However, De Fries, who outgrappled Broughton in the first round survived and was able to maintain top position throughout the final frame.

After losing to Travis Browne at UFC 135, this loss in his home country was Broughton's second straight loss. DeFries, meanwhile, remained undefeated in eight professional fights.

While De Fries' record is impressive, he showed no power in his ground and pound and his striking game remained a mystery after his UFC debut.

Michihiro Omigawa vs. Jason Young

8 of 10

Michihiro Omigawa defeats Jason Young by unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28).

It took five fights inside the Octagon, but Omigawa was finally able to come away with a UFC victory at UFC 138.

Young's striking looked crisp throughout the fight, but Omigawa was able to take the British featherweight to the canvas anytime he could get inside and clinch. Omigawa lost in a controversial decision in his previous appearance, but the Japanese veteran used his excellent grappling to ensure victory in Young's home country.

Young has now lost both of his fights in the UFC after he also suffered a loss in a questionable decision against Dustin Poirier. Young is a talented young fighter, but has some work to do on his takedown defense if he wants to become successful in the UFC.

Chris Cope vs. Che Mills

9 of 10

Che Mills defeats Chris Cope by technical knockout (knee and punches) at 0:40 of the first round.

Mills picked up an impressive victory in his UFC debut by overwhelming Cope early in the fight. Coming into the organization with two knockout victories over Marius Zaromskis, Mills put his striking prowess on display by dropping Cope with a brutal knee from the clinch.

Mills has now won five straight bouts and becomes an intriguing addition to the UFC's welterweight division. Mills' ground game is still a big question mark, but he is a dangerous opponent for anyone willing to stand with him.

The loss was Cope's first official UFC loss. In his prior appearance, Cope showed marked improvement from his time on "The Ultimate Fighter" by picking up a lopsided decision win over Chuck O'Neil.

Chris Cariaso vs. Vaughan Lee

10 of 10

Chris Cariaso defeats Vaughan Lee by split decision (28-29, 29-28, 29-28).

After being out-muscled by Lee in the first round, Cariaso's Octagon experience came into play in the later rounds of the fight, when he showed outstanding resilience.

Early in fight, Lee used his size to take Cariaso to the ground multiple times and clearly earned the first round on the scorecards.

However, Cariaso landed some short elbows early in the second round and fought hard for a takedown. Cariaso's top control was excellent through the final two rounds of the bout, which helped him earn his second UFC win.

With the victory, Cariaso put an end to Lee's undefeated streak of five straight fights.

Despite being a smallish bantamweight, Cariaso is working his way toward solidifying his spot on the UFC's roster. The eventual addition of a flyweight division to the organization could allow Cariaso to contend for a title someday.
