Ultimate Fighter: Top 5 Fighters Who Should Coach Ultimate Fighter Brazil
The sport of mixed martial arts continues to grow into a worldwide powerhouse and shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
The UFC, specifically, grooms and produces its world-class fighters through the all-to-familiar show of The Ultimate Fighter.
The Ultimate Fighter is currently in its 14th season, coached by middleweights Jason "Mayhem" Miller and Michael Bisping.
Recently, the UFC confirmed that they will be taking their talents to Brazil for a season of the show, despite not yet having named the coaches.
So, the following slides displays five fighters that should coach The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil.
Let's take a look.
Lyoto Machida
1 of 5Lyoto Machida, currently 33 years old and was born and raised in Bahia, Brazil.
Since arriving to the UFC in February of 2007, Machida has posted a 9-2 record and captured UFC's light heavyweight title by defeating Rashad Evans at UFC 98.
Machida's next fight will take place at UFC 140, where he will square off with current champion Jon Jones in hopes of taking back his title.
Vitor Belfort
2 of 5Vitor Belfort was born in Rio De Janeiro and has been fighting in the sport of mixed martial arts since October 1996.
Over the years, Belfort has established himself as one of the best Brazilian fighters and is a former UFC light heavyweight champion.
Despite being knocked out by Anderson Silva at UFC 126, Belfort is still considered a top five middleweight in the world.
Anderson Silva
3 of 5Anderson Silva is a no-brainer, as he's not only established himself as the greatest Brazilian of all time, but arguably the best of any country.
Silva, born and raised in Sao Paulo, Brazil, is the current UFC middleweight champion and hasn't lost a contest since January 2006.
"The Spider" has defended his title nine consecutive times, defeating the likes of Vitor Belfort, Chael Sonnen and Dan Henderson.
Jose Aldo
4 of 5While Jose Aldo certainly wouldn't be able to square off with Anderson Silva or Vitor Belfort because of the weight differential, he'd still make for an exceptional coach.
Aldo was born in Manaus, Brazil and is currently the UFC featherweight champion, not having lost a fight since May 2006.
Aldo is arguably the most explosive fighters in mixed martial arts today, as well as one of the top pound-for-pound fighters in the world.
Mauricio Rua
5 of 5Behind Anderson Silva, Mauricio "Shogun" Rua may very well be the most popular man in all of Brazil.
Rua was born in Curitiba, Brazil and entered the UFC in September of 2007 after dominating Pride for nearly four years.
"Shogun" Rua is also a former UFC light heavyweight champion, as he defeated Lyoto Machida at UFC 113 via knockout.
