LSU vs. Alabama: Home Field Advantage Will Carry over LSU in Heavyweight Clash
Saturday's game between No. 1 LSU and No. 2 Alabama will be one for the ages. Both teams have tough matches after this, but the winner will be well on its way to earning a spot in the National Championship game.
The hype is underway, and it's deserved. Each team possesses a great defense and an offense that's good enough to get the job done. At a neutral site and certainly in Louisiana, I would give the edge to LSU.
But this game is not at a neutral site and it's certainly not at LSU's home. No, this one is in Tuscaloosa, Alabama at Bryant-Denny Stadium. That will be the difference in the game.
Could LSU win? Absolutely. They are undefeated and the No. 1 team for a reason. Their schedule has been extremely tough this season and they have handled it with no real issues.
But now they have to deal with Trent Richardson. Now they have to deal with the Alabama offense. Those two parties have the tools in place to get Alabama an early lead and get the Alabama faithful loud and into the game.
What we have here are two evenly matched teams with a lot of talent. There are some other teams that have looked good this year, but these are the best two teams in the country. It's actually not at all impossible that this will be a National Championship Game preview.
But we're not looking that far ahead now. No, we're just looking ahead to Saturday at what's sure to be the best game of the college football season. These two teams have been the best, most consistent teams since day one.
They are evenly matched and even built in similar ways. They play in what's likely the toughest conference in America and managing it quite well.
Since they are so evenly matched, it's hard to go against the team that will get such a tremendous home field advantage.
Expect nothing short of the matchup that a No. 1 vs. No. 2 matchup is worthy of. These are the best teams in the country and will show it on Saturday.
In this kind of clash, look for the home team to win. That means that the Tide will roll.
