Kevin Kolb's prognosis for Sunday's game against St. Louis appears to be bleak, at least according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
"Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kevin Kolb is unlikely to play Sunday against the St. Louis Rams due to a turf toe injury, a league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.
Kolb sat out practice Wednesday and will not practice again Thursday. If Kolb cannot play,John Skelton would start at quarterback for Arizona. Skelton started four games as a rookie late last season.
"
Things just keep getting worse in Arizona, which is not what the team expected when it traded for Kolb back in July.

Kevin Kolb's play will be affected across the board by his turf toe injury, according to ESPN's Staff.
""Kolb, who ran for a first down late in the game, said the injury didn't affect his mobility so much as it did the velocity of his passes, since he pushes off with his right foot.
'A lot of your power comes from that side of your foot,' Kolb said, 'on that leg. When I had to take off and run I didn't feel it or anything. It probably was just nagging a little bit but nothing to throw me off my game.'"

Rotoworld updated Kolb's situation on Monday after ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter reported that the quarterback is questionable this week. Even though the former Philadelphia Eagles signal caller hasn't worked out as well as the team hoped, he's still the best option on the roster:
"Kolb showed up to the Cardinals' facility Monday with a swollen, black-and-blue toe. Kolb's backup is John Skelton, who completed under 50 percent of his passes in five appearances (four starts) last season. He took nine sacks. The Cardinals will know more about Kolb's availability by Thursday.
"
The Rams defense is allowing two passing touchdowns per game, which would make Kolb a solid sleeper option should he play in Week 9. We'll provide more information as it becomes available.
