Are You as Sick of Kevin Nash Ruining Matches as I Am?

Nathan GieseOct 31, 2011

In today's fast pace, go get 'em America, we as people live for controversy.  We thrive on it.  We can't seem to live without it.

With controversy comes unpredictability, something else we as people long for.

Controversy and unpredictability combine to make for some interesting and exciting moments.  In the world of sports entertainment, it is no exception.

WWE has been known to spark up controversy during their long running tenure.  Their popularity is based off of such events occurring on a weekly basis.  Vince McMahon is no stranger to bringing in some controversial stories in the television product.

Unpredictability, on the other hand, has been something that's been lacking as of late.

Enter Kevin Nash.

When Nash first jumped onto the scene at SummerSlam, fans were intrigued and excited about the possibilities.  Two-and-a-half months later, all of potential is out the window.

Nash started out as someone who could bring in a great storyline, being he was the best friend of the boss at the time, Triple H.  He attacked CM Punk and cost him the WWE Championship, obviously to the chagrin of Punk.

The next night of Raw, Nash came out and delivered a less than respectable promo about Punk, causing fans to immediately begin to wonder what they're getting into with Nash around.

Since, Nash has been fired but still manages to make his presence known whenever Triple H and Punk are involved.

He attacked both men at Night of Champions and again at Vengeance.  Last week, he took Hunter out multiple times with a sledgehammer.

Now, I'm all for a compelling storyline, but this is far from compelling.

Every fan and their dog knew that Nash was going to stick his nose into Punk and Hunter's tag team match with Miz and R-Truth, and we were treated with yet another abysmal showing from Big Daddy Cool.  Not only did he nearly end Hunter's career with an awful botched power bomb, he was noticeably gimp while trying to leave the arena.

All things considered, the terrible promos, the awful move that could have taken out a hot commodity and a broken man with two horrible knees, how is it that Nash still manages to get airtime?

Nash does not need to be involved with the hottest story of the fall, especially if he hasn't been able to get behind the character.  His actions are far too predictable and non-compelling.

We all know exactly what he's going to do before he does it, taking away any awe factor moments that could come.

It's sickening to see a man so far beyond the current landscape of the professional wrestling world getting time in front of the camera, while young, highly talented workers such as Daniel Bryan and Wade Barrett are not.

If Kevin Nash keeps getting involved with pay-per-view matches, or even television matches, beyond Survivor Series, all hope will be lost for the future of the WWE.  Letting Nash go after the fall classic of wrestling is the only way to get past this.

They already missed their shot to let him go when Hunter fired him, they cannot miss it again.  If they do, there will be a lot of disgruntled fans.

I know I'll be one.
