BCS Rankings: Predicting LSU and the Top 5's End-of-Season Ranking
As the 2011 college football season comes to a close, now is a good time to predict where the Top Five teams will end up once the season is done and over with.
Here is where LSU and the rest of the Top Five teams will end up when the 2011 regular season is said and done.
No.1 LSU
LSU will get its first and only set back of the 2011 season this weekend, when the Tigers lose their much anticipated matchup with Alabama.
Expect LSU to run the table after the 'Bama loss and reclaim a spot in the BCS title game with a win over No. 7 Arkansas at the end of the regular season.
Year-end prediction: No. 2
No. 2 Alabama
Alabama will stamp its ticket to the BCS title game this weekend with a win over fellow SEC powerhouse LSU.
After the toughest test of the season, the Crimson Tide can't look past anyone they face, and knowing their coach Nick Saban, they will be as ready for every game as they will be for their LSU showdown.
After taking care of a very favorable schedule, Alabama will be the top seed in the BCS title game in January.
Year-end prediction: No. 1
No. 3 Oklahoma State
Oklahoma State will look like a BCS title contender all the way up until its year-end game with instate rival Oklahoma.
Oklahoma will hand Oklahoma State its first loss of the season and smash the Cowboys' BCS title hopes in the process.
They won't drop far, as I feel a one-loss Oklahoma State team will be ahead of an undefeated Stanford in the end.
Year-end prediction: No. 4
No. 4 Stanford
Stanford will win out the rest of the season, but its strength of schedule will kill any national title hopes, similar to that of Boise State.
Stanford actually has wins over teams with a worse combined record than Boise State at the moment, so thinking that Stanford is above being held back because its schedule is better is ridiculous.
Year-end prediction: No. 5
No. 5 Boise State
Boise State has a clear-cut path to an undefeated record and will in turn not break back into the Top Five due to being a nonautomatic qualifying school.
Boise State's destiny is to be in the Fiesta Bowl, and only a loss would prevent fate from happening.
It will be another year, and another BCS controversy, surrounding Boise State.
Year-end prediction: No. 6
