BCS Rankings: Houston and 3 Teams That Will Rise to Top 10 by December
The Week 10 BCS poll was released on Sunday, and although these teams are on the outside now, they will rise to the top 10 by season's end.
Expect these three teams to reel off a winning streak to end the season and climb up the BCS standings.
No. 11 Clemson Tigers
Clemson dropped from fifth to 11th after their 31-17 loss to Georgia Tech on Saturday.
It was a very disappointing loss for the previously unbeaten Tigers, especially considering it was to a conference opponent.
Sitting at 8-1, Clemson's national title hopes have been dashed. However, if they win out from here, they will definitely find themselves in the top 10 by the end of the season.
They should blow out their next two opponents (Wake Forest and North Carolina State) before squaring off against No. 9 South Carolina in the regular season finale.
Considering the Gamecocks won't have Marcus Lattimore, I doubt Clemson will have much trouble.
They will finish the season at 11-1, and in the top 10 of the BCS.
No. 13 Houston Cougars
Houston hasn't been getting much hype as of late, despite leading the nation in points per game (52.3) and passing yards per game (453.3).
Quarterback Case Keenum has been phenomenal this season, throwing for 3,219 yards and 32 touchdowns. He leads the nation in both categories.
He's also been very efficient. He's completing 71.9 percent of his passes and has thrown just three interceptions.
Houston obviously has a cupcake schedule, as they play in the Conference USA. Because of that, they won't get a ton of respect this year.
Still, it's impossible to ignore an undefeated team that puts up 50-plus points per game. Houston will definitely be in the top 10 when bowl season rolls around.
No. 14 Kansas State Wildcats
The Wildcats got spanked by Oklahoma in Week 9, but I think they will rebound to upset third ranked Oklahoma State on Saturday.
K-State will be looking to prove themselves after getting embarrassed by the Sooners. I'm expecting Collin Klein and the Wildcats offense to get back on track and ultimately beat the Cowboys in a shootout.
The dual-threat quarterback Klein poses a unique threat to Oklahoma State's defense. The junior has 22 total touchdowns on the season, 14 of which he ran in himself.
I'm predicting an upset victory and a return to the top 10 for Kansas State.
