The Warriors Pass Their Test Against The Milwaukee Bucks, 119-92

Steven ResnickDec 10, 2008

The Golden State Warriors came in to Wednesday's game looking to gain some momentum after breaking their nine game losing streak on Monday against the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Warriors passed this test with flying colors, although it did get a little iffy in the third quarter.

The teams played relatively close through the first half and it was a five point lead for the Warriors at half with the score being 55-50.

Then the third quarter came which during the losing streak has been extremely unkind to the Warriors. The Warriors opened up the half on a nice run and got the lead up to 12 points.

Just like the Warriors last game the Bucks made a run in that third quarter and actually tied the game at 81-81. Just like the previous game against the Thunder Ronny Turiaf tried too much on the offensive end and instead of missing a long jumper he shuffled his feet.

At the end of the third quarter though the Warriors maintained a one point lead. Then the surpising thing happened in the fourth quarter. The Warriors defense combined with poor offensive execution by the Bucks held the Bucks to only 11 points in the fourth quarter and the Warriors won going away 119-92.

There's definitely positives to take out of this game. There were two huge plays that stick out. The first was the play of Andris Biedrins on the defensive end who had a key blocked shot on Charlie Villanueva and a key steal.

The second was C.J. Watson on the offensive glass. There were two moments on three pointers that Watson was able to get a rebound. The first one was huge because it was in the midst of the Bucks run and would have given them even more momentum if they were able to score. Instead it became an easy layup on a rebound that Andrew Bogut should have had.

The second offensive rebound was on a three point attempt by Stephen Jackson and it lead to a foul on a layup attempt.

The great news to take out of the game though is that the Warriors made 43 shots and on those 43 shots the Warriors had 27 assists. Stephen Jackson lead the team with eight assists and in a close second Jamal Crawford had seven.

After this game the Warriors should have more confidence and in Friday's game against Houston expect them to play much better especially since the game is at home.
