Oklahoma vs. Kansas State: Wildcats Win Would Only Prove Oklahoma Is Overrated
The Oklahoma Sooners opened the season up as National Championship favorites. Many expected them to run the table and with all of the talent on both sides of the ball, eventually win the National Championship.
Oklahoma started the season off 6-0 and pretty much breezed through the competition. But then they ran into a road block against the Texas Tech Red Raiders and ended up losing 41-38.
The shocking loss not only hurt the Sooners chances of winning the National Championship as they went from No. 3 to No. 8 in the BCS Poll, but it also is raising some suspensions that Oklahoma may be overrated.
Texas Tech is a solid football team that scores a bunch of points, but Oklahoma shouldn't have lost that game. Especially when you have a veteran team that is loaded on both sides of the ball and have a great coach that prepares you week in and week out.
They shouldn't have lost to a Texas Tech team that gives up 30 points a game which is ranked 91st out of 120 teams in the country.
In college football, upsets happen and most teams can get away with them once in a while.
This week Oklahoma plays the undefeated Kansas State Wildcats and if they end up losing to them, it's safe to label the Sooners overrated.
Sure, Kansas State is 7-0 and ranked No. 8 in the BCS but they haven't really beaten anybody. They've won games against Baylor and Missouri but they have yet to have that game against a powerhouse like Oklahoma.
The Sooners claim to have a top defense in the country that is full of experience. Well, the Wildcats only do one thing right on offense and that's running the football. They have no passing game whatsoever.
If you have a top defense there is no way you can let a one dimensional offense beat you.
Kansas State is that team that doesn't do anything particularly well but finds ways to win even if it's ugly. Oklahoma can't lose to a school like that, especially when they're suppose to be head and shoulders above most of the competition.
You can forget about BCS bowl games and National Championships.
Oklahoma has to prove to the country this week that they aren't overrated first.
