NFL Week 8 Picks: Which Games Will Be Over By Halftime?
Blowouts are the types of games that can really instill a supreme amount of confidence in a team. Also, it allows a team to really focus on improving their weaknesses via game speed, which can be extremely beneficial.
So with that in mind, here are three blowout games in Week 8.
San Francisco 49ers (vs. Cleveland)

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
The Browns have three wins against teams with a combined record of 2-17, whereas the 49ers have two of their five wins on the road in Cincinnati and Detroit. Do the math.
Cleveland's only road win came against Indianapolis, and had San Fran not choked in Week 2 against Dallas, it'd be 6-0.
In any event, San Francisco blows Cleveland back east by controlling the trenches throughout. And the game doesn't have the feel of a blowout, because the 49ers dominate on the ground with RB Frank Gore while also stopping the Browns' weak rushing attack.
If anything, the game has the feel of a slow, but painful loss that gradually accumulates in favor of San Fran. The scoreboard may not exactly display the game being over by halftime, but it is.
49ers 35, Browns 3
New Orleans Saints (at St. Louis)
Now here's a game that will look and feel like it's over at halftime by virtue of the scoreboard. The Saints have top-five passing and top-10 rushing offenses and the Rams, well, let's just say they're currently on hiatus.
Sure the Saints have not performed as well on the road, but this week changes all that and really gives them momentum heading into a big Week 9 matchup with Tampa Bay.
St. Louis, unfortunately, just isn't explosive enough to keep pace, nor is it quick enough to react as QB Drew Brees splits the Rams defense like Ernest Rutherford split the atom (back in 1917).
Saints 47, Rams 10
New York Giants (vs. Miami)
Luckily for the Giants, the 0-6 Miami Dolphins come into MetLife Stadium with no confidence whatsoever (especially after the 18-15 OT home loss to Denver) and a need to start focusing on the 2012 offseason.
As for New York, this game is a warmup for its schedule from Weeks 9-14, when they play at San Francisco, at New England, Philly, at New Orleans, Green Bay and at Dallas all in consecutive weeks.
However, this Miami game is also a must-win as the Giants are getting healthier at the right time. The Dolphins, on the other hand, have off-the-field issues with a coach on the hot seat, frustrated players and a backup QB (Matt Moore) who unfortunately has been thrown to the wolves.
If you have to bet on which game gets ugliest the fastest, this is that game.
Giants 38, Dolphins 6
