WWE Vengeance 2011: Sheamus Needs World Title Push Immediately
Sheamus is being groomed as a contender for the world heavyweight title, or at least it appears that way on television. So the next logical step for his career will be to get away from his feud with Christian, which ran its course long before their match at Vengeance.
These two have wrestled at the last two pay-per-views, with Sheamus winning clean both times. Traditionally, when the babyface wins the first match the feud is over because there is nothing left for the crowd to be invested in.
In today’s WWE, conventional booking goes out the window. In its place comes repetitive storylines that do not really get anyone over and serve to maintain the status quo, which is John Cena and Randy Orton on top with everyone else bringing up the rear.

Modern-Day Dream Matches 💭

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
SmackDown is desperate for main event talent, and his work with Mark Henry and the Big Show is not the long-term answer. He is a nice novelty act but does not mean a thing for business, and no one wants to see him in a main event program.
Sheamus, meanwhile, is stuck rotting in a mid-card feud when he could be wrestling Henry for the world title and elevating himself and the champion.
Henry is doing a great job as champion - there is something I never thought I would write - and should keep the belt for a few more months, but Sheamus should at least be given the next shot.
Considering that we are coming off a six-month “feud” with Orton and Christian that went absolutely nowhere, it would be a refreshing change of pace to get Sheamus into the title picture.
Orton is busy working other programs, Big Show would be better off working with someone who is not as bad as he is in the ring and Christian can go back to doing what he does best: Get mid-card workers over.
Would Sheamus getting back in the world title picture right now instead of having to work another pointless match with Christian really be that bad? He has the momentum to justify getting a title shot, he just needs to get the support from the creative team.
It does not appear that Sheamus’ shot is coming anytime soon, but it would be a shame if WWE waits too long to give it to him and he is forever branded a mid-card worker.
