Chargers vs. Jets: 4 Halftime Adjustments San Diego Must Make
Well, that went well, now didn't it?
After a sluggish start, the Chargers offense rebounded to the tune of a 21-10 halftime lead. While 11 points is a comfortable margin, no lead is untouchable in the NFL. Here are four adjustments San Diego must make to hang on and win this game.ย
1. Keep Pressuring SanchezโSanchez has actually been pretty good today when heโs had time to operate. But with Chargers breathing down his throat, itโs been a different story. If San Diego can keep Sanchez off balance and on the run, the turnovers will come.

2. Keep Feeding GatesโNice to have No. 85 back, isnโt it? With Revis doing a great job of shutting down Vincent Jackson, Gatesโ role in the offense is even more magnified. Heโs clearly not 100 percent out there, but heโs been effective. The Jetsโ linebackers clearly canโt keep up with him in space. Expect a lot more targets for Gates in the second half.
3. Stop Shonn GreeneโYes, this is San Diegoโs first game playing L.T. since the trade. But Tomlinson hasnโt done too much, with the exception of a big 19-yard catch. Greene on the other hand, has been a handful. San Diego has to put eight in the box and keep challenging Sanchez to beat them deep.
4. No More PenaltiesโSevenย penaltiesย for 40 yards is pretty bad for an entire game. For a first half? Thatโs just awful. San Diego is giving the Jets free yards every single drive. If you give a team with weapons extra chances, youโre gonna get burned. Period.
