WWE Vengeance 2011: Top 5 Events to Watch for Tonight
WWE Vengeance is almost here. The hype has been pretty quiet, but that won't take away from the actual event tonight.
The matches are set. The crowd will be there. The performers will be ready to put on a great show.
With all of that being said, there are always a few "intangibles" that can really make or break a PPV show. I am going to count down just five events that could go a long way in determining if WWE Vengeance ends on a good note or not.
Will JR Be There?
1 of 5I have no knowledge of Jim Ross's travel schedule. I have no reason to believe he will be in Texas on Sunday night. However, if this show has him ringside, the quality of commentating suddenly goes up.
I like Jerry Lawler. I like Booker T. I love Michael Cole as a heel. Sadly, nothing compares to have Jim Ross call a wrestling match. He is such an important part to WWE.
What Match Opens the Show?
2 of 5This is very important to the show. I cannot stress this enough. The opening match on the card is almost as big as the closing match on the card. Seriously!
WWE must start out with a hot crowd/contest. I assume that honor will go to Sheamus vs. Christian or maybe Air Boom's title match? Either way, it needs to be good. One bad start and the entire night could be lost.
Main Event Segment
3 of 5Again, this is such an important part to the show. Don't believe me? Imagine WWE Vengeance ending with Beth Phoenix vs. Eve.
I love both divas, but it would be a disaster.
WWE has a few options here. Does the World title match close the show with Henry and Big Show? Probably not.
How about the WWE title match with Del Rio and Cena? Maybe. The Last Man Standing match could end in a huge "angle" that has many people talking.
My pick goes to Triple H and CM Punk facing off against The Miz and Truth. That is where the "money angle" will go down, and it must end the show to make Raw feel "must see" the next night.
Ziggler in Two Matches?
4 of 5I do not like this move. Sorry, but I am against this taking place. There is no reason for this to be happening. If he wins one title but loses the other, then spread it out over to WWE Raw the next night.
Doing everything in one night is just wrong. I fear for his safety first of all. Secondly, the crowd is going to react less and less to a certain performer the more they see him in one night. His first match will be fine; his second will feature a dead crowd. I almost guarantee that one...almost.
Thirdly, I just don't want to see him in two matches. Forget the health concerns. Forget the crowd. I have no reason to see him wrestle twice in one night. WWE better have some "grand storyline" here because I am not in favor of this at all.
WWE Vengeance Is in Texas...
5 of 5The Undertaker could return at any moment.
Shawn Michaels is from San Antonio.
Stone Cold is likely to be around and about.
WWE has so many legends from Texas that anything is possible whenever they come to town. Could a big return be on the horizon? It may not be very likely, but "never say never" in this business!
