Opposites Attract? The Ohio State-Texas Blasphemy
With all the talk about how Boise State got screwed and how the BCS is corrupt, people overlooked the intriguing matchup between the prodigy and the battle-hardened veteran.
Even when Colt McCoy stepped on the college football field in Texas' uniform as a high school record holder and potential-filled quarterback, he didn't get the respect he deserved. Despite having great season after great season, he was just mostly unnoticed for reasons unknown.
Then here comes this new guy out of high school, who barges into a prestigious university, takes the starting position over a senior, and steals the spotlight from nearly every other player in the Big Ten with the exception of Javon Ringer.
This matchup of past and future should be a great game, considering McCoy needs to prove he's worthy of a high NFL draft pick and Pryor needs to prove he's worth all this attention.
But that's not the only intriguing matchup about this game.
With everyone concluding that the only reason the slew of Big 12 quarterbacks was so successful is because of their terrible defenses, this game will prove if that's true or not when they play one of the best and most experienced defensive units in the nation in the Ohio State Buckeyes.
You think that's it? Not hardly.
The Buckeye offense hasn't been tip-top this year, and they want to go out and show despite the off year, their offense does have the talent to compete with anybody in the nation. Will they do it? Well, we will just have to watch and decide.
Two teams completely opposite in philosophy. Two teams completely opposite in player popularity. Two teams completely opposite on people's beliefs where they should be this bowl season.
Two teams with completely opposite everything, only similar in their desire to win.
