BCS Rankings 2011: Oklahoma State, Stanford and Top 10 Teams on Upset Alert
College football's first BCS standings of the season were released last Sunday, and not surprisingly, LSU, Alabama and Oklahoma kicked off the top three.
Oklahoma State jumped Boise State and Wisconsin fell below both the Cowboys and the Broncos.
The other big shift at the top was the 7-0 Clemson Tigers jumping the undefeated Stanford Cardinal.
Week 8 of college football presents some finger-lickingly tasty matchups however, and some top 10 teams are sure to fall.
Here are three BCS top 10 teams that will be on upset alert this weekend:
No. 4 Oklahoma State at Missouri (12:00 PM on FX)
The Cowboys are 6-0, 3-0 in the Big 12 in 2011, and will go on the road again this week to face the upset-minded Missouri Tigers, who are in talks of soon joining the SEC.
Oklahoma State's defense looked suspect against the slipping Texas Longhorns last Saturday, but the high-powered Cowboys' offense remains the No. 1 focus of opposing defenses.
The Tigers are undefeated at home this season (3-0) and boast the nation's 25th-best scoring defense, allowing just over 20 points per contest.
Missouri's ground attack is also among the best in the country, ranking 14th in rushing yards per game, averaging more than 235 per week.
No. 8 Stanford vs No. 25 Washington (8:00 PM on ABC)
Andrew Luck and the Stanford Cardinal will face arguably their toughest task of the season, disposing of the 5-1 Huskies at home.
Like Stanford, Washington is undefeated in the Pac-12, and hot on the heels of both Stanford and Oregon for the Pac-12 North division lead.
Defensively nothing stands out for the Huskies in 2011, in their only loss they allowed 51 points to the No. 13 Nebraska Cornhuskers.
Offensively the Huskies can score with almost any team in the nation. Sophomore quarterback Keith Price has already racked up 21 touchdowns for Washington and is completing nearly 70 percent of his passes in 2011.
No. 6 Wisconsin at No. 16 Michigan State (8:00 PM on ESPN)
In what is arguably the most anticipated Big Ten matchup of the season, the undefeated No. 6 Wisconsin Badgers will travel to East Lansing to battle the 5-1 No. 16 Michigan State Spartans.
The Badgers will have their work cut out for them on the road, facing off against the nation's 4th-best defense, which allows a little more than 10 points per game.
In the last two weeks, the Spartans have knocked off Ohio State and Michigan, ending the Wolverines perfect season via a 28-14 rivalry win last Saturday afternoon.
Wisconsin's No. 7-ranked rushing attack will have to be on point on the road Saturday night, considering the Badgers have yet to play away from Madison and the Spartans haven't lost at Spartan Stadium all year.
