WWE Vengeance 2011 Predictions: A Victorious John Cena Is a No-Brainer
John Cena’s famous words when he showed up on Monday Night RAW for the first time as WWE Champion was, “The Champ is HERE!”
The smart move for the WWE to make during its main event match of John Cena vs. WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio is to have Cena take the belt back.
No matter if you love or hate him, John Cena is the most hyped wrestler on the roster of the WWE. He draws a reaction every time he steps out onto the entrance ramp, and is able to do the media tours that come with holding the federations biggest prize.

After the Vengeance pay-per-view, the WWE starts to enter its biggest stretch of pay-per-views with Survivor Series, Royal Rumble and WrestleMania.
WrestleMania is already headlined by Cena against The Rock. Would the match still sell without the WWE Championship on the line? Yes. However, would their match sell even more if the title was on the line? Of course. What is WWE’s main goal? To make money.
With the match already set in stone for ‘Mania, Cena has a storyline that is enhanced with the company’s biggest title on the line.
However, what does Del Rio have after this pay-per-view?
That’s right, nothing.
Do you want your champion to have nothing to do, with no competitor as you head into your biggest pay-per-views of the year? Do you want your champion as someone that isn’t a house-hold name with the general public?
No, you don’t, because if Del Rio wins, that is exactly what happens, you have a champion with no story line and isn’t one of their top superstars.
Here is where the WWE will go with Cena as their champion after Vengeance.
They already have Rock booked for the Raw show from Boston before Survivor Series. There, Rock and Cena continue the slow build-up to their epic encounter at WrestleMania. At that Raw they will build towards their teaming up at Survivor Series.
At Survivor Series they tease during the match that the two will come to blows, not trusting each other. At the finish, we’ll see Cena hit an AA on Miz (as he’ll be the lone representative left on his team) as Cena is about to go for the pin, he’ll be spun around right into a rock-bottom from the Rock, then the Rock placing Cena’s arm over Miz to score the victory for Cena and Rock’s team.
After that the build-up will be for a Royal Rumble main event of Cena and Miz with the Rock being involved as the special guest referee.
After a clean win where Rock calls the match down the line, counting a Cena clean win over Miz, Rock hands Cena the title, shakes his hand and points towards the WrestleMania XXVIII sign in the rafters as the pay-per-view ends.
From there, Cena and Rock go back-and-forth with promos from February all the way up to their epic match at WrestleMania.
Do you see Alberto Del Rio pulling something as compelling as this off?
No, you don’t.
That’s why on Sunday, the WWE needs to have Cena leave Vengeance as the champion.
