NFL Rumors: Mike Sims-Walker Reunion Wouldn't Save Jaguars' Lost Season
When the Rams traded for the Broncos' Brandon Lloyd on Monday, they immediately cut receiver Mike Sims-Walker to make room for the new receiver.
From there, the natural question is, where might Sims-Walker end up? Tania Ganguli of the Florida Times-Union is shedding some light on that question.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Ganguli reports that a reunion with the Jaguars might be in the cards.
So, is this a good move, or a bad move?
From Sims-Walker's perspective, it makes sense. He just got cut from a winless team, so his opportunities wouldn't seem to be too plentiful. He knows the system in Jacksonville, even if he's not going to have the same quarterback that he was accustomed to in north Florida.
From the Jaguars' perspective, it makes some sense. Why not try to bring in a veteran receiver to help a rookie quarterback in Blaine Gabbert?
But let's not kid ourselves into thinking that this is anything more than just that. The Jaguars are 1-5, on a five-game losing streak, and have to play the Ravens and Texans before their bye week. Chances are very good that they will be sitting at 1-7 at the halfway point of the season.
Sims-Walker isn't going to change that, even if he plays his absolute best.
Right now, it's worth noting that this is nothing more than a rumor. Sims-Walker hasn't signed anywhere yet.
It makes sense for him to at least consider returning to the place where he's enjoyed some success. There may be options out there that are more geared for immediate success, there may not be. There is no signing deadline, so Sims-Walker has time to find the right situation.
But for right now, as long as nobody reads too much into why it would be done, this is a move that makes sense for all parties.
