Jay Cutler: Bears QB Continues to Impress with Tough Guy Mentality
Jay Cutler once caught flak for not being tough enough. I was one of the many who didn't think much of him as a true leader on the field.
That notion is quickly disappearing.
The Bears quarterback has been the center of some interesting problems with communication on the field.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
On Sunday night in the Bears' romp of the Minnesota Vikings, cameras caught Cutler's fire on full display.
The Chicago Tribune writes:
"The Bears have blown through plenty of timeouts when they’ve been delayed getting the play in, and Cutler’s frustration was raised late in the first half Sunday night when NBC cameras and microphones apparently caught him voicing his displeasure.
“Tell him I said (bleep) you,” was picked up by the cameras as Cutler moved to the line of scrimmage.
"
The target of his anger remains unknown. If it was someone on the sideline, Cutler could've just delivered the message without asking for his words to be passed along.
This could mean he's speaking directly to offensive coordinator Mike Martz.
I typically don't care for players talking back to coaches, but this has been a problem for the Bears all season long and Cutler has dealt with it admirably.
In fact, Cutler has truly impressed me all season.
He's still being hit and sacked like he owes his offensive line money (19 sacks taken through six games), but he's playing well and doing everything he can to win.
The sixth-year QB is completing 60 percent of his passes and has eight touchdowns and only four interceptions.
The beating he's taken behind the line has lessened of late, and in their last three games they are 2-1 with Cutler being sacked only five times.
I have no problem with him voicing his displeasure with his coaches for not getting plays in on time. And, I love that he's being demonstrative.
In the win, he was also caught by NBC cameras throwing a block on the NFL's league leader in sacks, Jared Allen.
The play truly exemplifies how much Cutler wants to win this year.
The Bears still have trouble with their wide receivers and need Devin Hester to bail them out on special teams too often, but Cutler is doing his part.
I was never a big Cutler fan, and I certainly didn't think he brought much toughness to the field.
I can humbly say I was mistaken and am pleasantly surprised. I might just become a Cutler fan after all.
