TNA Teasing Fans On Who Will Be In Kurt Angle's Corner
IF you saw TNA iPMACT this past week, you heard about 800 times it seemed that Kurt Angle would have a special guest in his corner at Final Resolution. He would be there sort of to counteract Mick Foley being the special guest enforcer.
He said it would be no one from the Main Event Mafia, so it was unclear on who he would have with him. Some thought we might see Frank Trigg again, but that was thrown out when TNA Mobile sent a message teasing the fans on who it would be.
It said that the man who will appear in Kurt Angle's corner in his match against Rhino with Mick Foley as ref will be a former World Champion, and a man who held tag team titles with Foley.
So I as I'm sure everyone was confused by this. So it got people thinking, who could it be. I found this list on pwrestlingnews.com that shows everyone possible.
Mick's former Tag Team Title partners are:
WWE: STONE COLD STEVE AUSTIN, AL SNOW, CHAINSAW CHARLIE (TERRY FUNK), KANE, and THE ROCK
WCW: KEVIN SULLIVAN
USWA/World Class: SCOTT BRADDOCK and SUPER ZODIAK II (GARY YOUNG)
Steel City: BLUE MEANIE
IWA (JAPAN): TRACY SMOTHERS
ECW: MIKEY WHIPWRECK
Championship Wrestling: GARY YOUNG
Of these former World Champions are:
STEVE AUSTIN (WWE)
THE ROCK (WWE)
TERRY FUNK (NWA/ECW)
KANE (WWE/ECW)
MIKEY WHIPWRECK (ECW)
OF course this makes one think that it would be Terry Funk, who is a good friend still with Foley and would most likely be there if asked. But it seems unlikely to me.
Kane, Stone Cold, and The Rock are definately not going to be there, which leaves Mikey Whipwreck. But he is a man many viewers may not know, especially the younger wrestling fans.
ECW has been out of business since early 2000, which leads people to believe it will not be him. And terry Funk seems the obvious choice to me. They could just be pulling the TNA fans leg on this though.
I mean when WWE fans heard about Jeff Hardy being found passed out on his stairwell in Boston the night before the Survivor Series PPV, it was all hype for the show.
Maybe TNA wants to get more viewers and they think this will help them. It is a good idea, but they do need to deliver. With TNA's past events they may do that. Many will buy the PPV just to see who it will be.
I on the other hand will watch iPMACT Thursday and find out then. Which is most likely what many are going to do to save money for the holidays. But who knows, TNA does need to learn from the WWE, lets hope they learned how to sell something good to.
Who do you think it is?
