Chael Sonnen and 5 UFC Fighters Who Could Have a Future in Politics
The sport of mixed martial arts hasn't emerged as a powerhouse over the recent decade on performance alone.
In fact, it's the fighters who have dedicated their lives to the sport that bring a spice to MMA.
More specifically, the UFC is filled with individuals who not only can fight, but can pitch you a line.
While they are mixed martial artists at heart, there are a few fighters who could pursue a career in politics when their fighting careers are over.
The following list displays five fighters who could have a future in politics.
Let's take a look.
Jon Jones
1 of 5Not only does Jon Jones look like a politician, but he acts like one, too.
The classy Jones says the right things at the right time. Jones may have won over some votes after chasing down and subduing a robber before UFC 128, promoting a violence-free environment.
Brian Stann
2 of 5Arguably the classiest fighter in mixed martial arts today, Brian Stann is a former United States Marine captain.
Not only is Stann classy, but he has the work experience to be a future politic. He's respectful and has already become a fan favorite.
Georges St-Pierre
3 of 5When Georges St-Pierre stands in front of a podium, there are two things that are certain to happen: He'll catch the eyes of many fans and he'll tell them exactly what they want to hear.
Also one of the classier guys in the sport, St-Pierre looks like a politician and could very easily find himself in that role someday.
Chael Sonnen
4 of 5Chael Sonnen isn't your average UFC fighter. In fact, he's taken his role of a mixed martial artists to the boundary line to that of a WWE wrestler.
What makes Sonnen a potential politician is his ability to speak nonsense and still somehow manage to entertain his audience. Whether or not Sonnen can follow through on his promises are yet to be seen.
Tito Ortiz
5 of 5Tito Ortiz, whether or not we'd like to admit it, could make a good politician.
Ortiz has the ability to draw crowds and hype himself up more than the majority of mixed martial artists today. Similar to a politician, Ortiz doesn't always come through with what he promises.
