Week 6 Start 'Em, Sit 'Em: Owen Daniels, TEs You Must Start

John RozumOct 14, 2011

Aside from the typical tight ends such as Tony Gonzalez and Jason Witten, we have to go with those that may be undecided for game day.

Picking the right starting TE is so crucial, because with the NFL becoming more of a passing league, TEs can put up just as much, if not more than RBs and WRs.

With that in mind, here are three TEs to start in Week 6.

Owen Daniels, Texans (at Ravens)

Owen Daniels is the best receiving weapon on the Texans right now, and even when Andre Johnson was still in, he was as good as they come.

Although Houston is playing Baltimore this week, Daniels is a better receiving TE than the Ravens' LBs are in pass coverage.

That said, you just have to hope safety Ed Reed isn't the one covering him.

Daniels will be the only bright spot on Houston's offense this week because the team is getting crushed otherwise.

Jermaine Gresham, Bengals (vs. Colts)

The Colts have so many injuries it's hard even fathom how difficult that must be to overcome.

Luckily for Cincinnati though, they're nowhere near as bad and with Jermaine Gresham quietly becoming one of the better TEs in the game, rookie QB Andy Dalton has a solid outlet if fellow rookie WR A.J. Green is doubled-teamed.

Gresham's clearly a better receiving TE than a blocker, and he's very dangerous inside the red zone.

As long as Dalton has minimal time to throw this week (because Indy does have a solid pass rush), Gresham will make for one solid fantasy start.

Dustin Keller, Jets (vs. Dolphins)

Personally dubbed him the nickname "Donkey Kong" because of his size, strength and the initials of his name...but I digress.

Dustin Keller is QB Mark Sanchez's best and most reliable receiving target on the Jets, and with a weak ground game, Keller's services will be crucial on Monday night.

If you have Keller, start him, because the Miami defense can only get backed up so many times thanks to its bad offense.

New York's defense will put the offense in good field position, and Keller will be effective inside the red zone, since Miami's pass defense will be more focused on WRs Plaxico Burress and Santonio Holmes.
