BCS Poll 2011: Small-Conference Boise State Makes Biggest Argument Against BCS
Another year, another moment of fear for the Boise State Broncos. There is a solution for all of this tumult: all the Broncos have to do is say yes.
An ESPN report asserts that the Big East and Boise State are in the middle of feeling out one another at the moment. The conference and program are not all that warm with joining each other, but they should be.
The biggest argument we hear every season comes from Boise State. The unrelenting question is why they are always left out when their record and huge margin of wins tells their supporters they deserve respect.
Well, the opportunity is here for the whining and constant arguing to end once and for all. I understand the dilemma from both parties, but it pales in comparison to what we get if they don't join forces.
The report states, to the eye rolls of many, the following.
"A college football official, who spoke Thursday to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss the Big East's plans, says some Big East presidents are resisting adding Boise State and the school itself has reservations about joining a conference in flux.
"
The Big East is in dire straits that the moment. They not only need more schools to join, but they need powerful ones that will give the conference a great deal more prestige than it currently has in the realm of football.
For the Broncos, they need a conference to get them an automatic bid every year. With their might, they would steamroll through most of the other programs every year, despite the long travel schedule.
If the Broncos pull out of this potential relationship, I will give up ever sticking up for them again. This is the perfect way to give the program the boost it needs with the BCS.
The rankings are set to be released this weekend, and the Broncos will be left out in the cold. The time to stake their claim has ended. The time to answer their questions has finally come.
