College Football Rankings: Arizona State and Sleeper Teams Voters Can't Ignore
Everyone is gaga over the undefeated teams. LSU and Alabama are spectacular, Oklahoma proves week-in and week-out that they are a contender and Wisconsin, Boise State, Stanford and Clemson all look like they can run the table.
They aren't the only teams on the BCS radar, though. There are plenty of sleeper teams who are going to force voters to acknowledge them. Here are three sleeper teams voters can't ignore.
Arizona State
Arizona State dropped a road game against Illinois, but the Sun Devils remain one of the scariest teams in the nation. With a win over ranked Missou and a thrashing of USC, Arizona State has established themselves as a force to be reckoned with.
Vontaze Burfict and the Arizona State defense face a huge test this week when they take on Oregon in Eugene. With no LaMichael James, the Ducks are going to be noticeably slowed down, setting the stage for ASU to pull off a huge upset victory with Brock Osweiler leading the way.
Kansas State
Kansas State is a perfect 5-0 after beating Miami, Baylor and Missouri. Every week, we come up with reasons why the Wildcats aren't one of the top-10 teams in the country, and every week, they answer the call.
John Hubert and Collin Klein present a dominant rushing attack, and the Wildcats are going to give the Big 12 everything they can handle. With Texas, Oklahoma, Texas A&M and Oklahoma State all remaining on their roster, the Wildcats are going to have plenty of chances to establish themselves as a Big 12 powerhouse.
Illinois
Illinois is 6-0, and if they can manage to take down Ohio State, the Big Ten is going to have to start taking them seriously. They've already beaten Arizona State, and though they have only gone on the road once this season, Illinois shouldn't struggle on the road.
With Ohio State, Michigan, Penn St. and Wisconsin still lying ahead, it's clear Illinois faces an uphill battle. Even so, they are one of the hottest teams in the nation and one that nobody wants to face.
