WWE Analysis: Why the Conspiracy Just Doesn't Work

David LevinOct 11, 2011

We are still waiting!

Like a pot that will not boil, the wrestling community is still waiting for this "conspiracy" theory to finally unravel and show itself to the fans on RAW.

As we wait and wait, the tension mounts and the story idea is losing steam faster than the WWE Title changes hands.

Yes, I said that.

Over and over again, we are teased and promised and even taken out for a night on the town.

But nothing happens.

And it looks like even with this "walk-out" by WWE stars and employees, the wait will continue.

How many more PPV events and special guests do we have to go through until there is an end?

These are eight reasons that this does not work and that the storyline needs to be amped up or just go away for good.

8. Triple H Is Not Believable as a Corporate Executive

1 of 8

He will never be Vince McMahon.

Triple H still looks like the hulking wrestler who wants to beat the crap out of the everyone. And now that he is out as the COO, things could get interesting. I will have a column on this later today.

Say what you will about McMahon, Eric Bischoff and even Paul Heyman, but they were believable figure heads.

Triple H looks like he needs to be in his wrestling gear, not in a suit.

7. Too Many Changes in the Script

2 of 8

Whether it is Kevin Nash wanting to be in a movie or injuries to key players on Raw or Smackdown or changes with time, date and place, there is too much time for evolution.

This idea should have moved faster and in quarter time to get the message across.

The lingering is killing the tempo.

6. The NWO Storyline Was Better the First Time

3 of 8

This may be the only time I praise Eric Brischoff for anything.

The premise behind the nWo when they first invaded WCW was the most brilliant idea in wrestling history. It was thought out, timed and placed perfectly.

There is none of that now. And it will never be duplicated again.

Fans want to see the same concept and it cannot happen like the first go around.

5. No One Can Replace Hall and Nash

4 of 8

Bringing in Kevin Nash is a great idea, but he is not as good as he once was and Scott Hall was really the who was the best of the group.

Without him, there is no nWo. And try as they might, R-Truth and Miz will NEVER be any of those characters.

The scheme needs a three-headed monster. If a Shawn Michaels joined them, then you might have something.

4. There Is No One to Play Sting's Part

5 of 8

You know, the one where he leaves for about a year, does not wrestle and lets everyone think he is in the rafters.

Well, it would not go down like that, but there needs to be a guy everyone looks to that can "save" the day. The Rock is the closest thing to that and maybe CM Punk.

But I don't see someone parading a bat around, pointing it at others and expecting them to follow.

3. Who Is the One Guy to Surprise Everyone with the Jump to the Darkside?

6 of 8

You know where I am going with this...

There is only one guy in the WWE that can spark as much disbelief in this idea with a heel change.

John Cena would have to be the one to take the reins and run with this as the "Hulk Hogan" traitor of this scenario.

2. Can It Keep Going If Nothing Is Happening?

7 of 8

The walkout last week on Raw was a sign of "Civil War" but it was done in such a way that the words that came out of the mouths of wrestlers were not credible and spoken by the wrong people.

Having CM Punk, Alberto Del Rio and Mark Henry speak about gripes carries more weight than a Wade Barrett or Beth Phoenix.

Who will do the talking for both sides?

1. This Only Works If Vince McMahon Is Behind It

8 of 8

McMahon in the end needs to show his face on Raw and lead the faction against Triple H or the faction to save his company.

Raw is losing something by not having Vinnie Mac involved in the storyline. And his appearance last night helps by "firing" his son-in-law.

Raw needs to get back to where it once was.

A good story is only as good as the people that are telling it and right now WWE creative and John Laurinaitis are telling this tale.

You do the math.
