Roy Keane Praised by Patrick Vieira
In recent weeks, Roy Keane’s management at Sunderland has come under scrutiny. One of his fiercest rivals, however, has backed him, saying Keane is "tough but fair."
Patrick Vieira is a French international now with Italian giants Inter Milan. Vieira and Keane went head-to-head, sometimes literally, many times during their renowned midfield rivalry with their respective clubs, Arsenal and Manchester United.
A former enemy’s words may offer Keane some respite, with Vieira fondly recalling their numerous, very physical encounters on the pitch.

Vieira told Ford's Feel Football programme: "For me, being in England for nine years, I would have said Roy Keane, as well is really tough, really strong, but he was fair.
"What I like about him is the fact that he would not talk, he would take the kick, he would not say anything, then, on the next one, he would give it to you and he would expect, of course, that you say nothing.
"He's not the kind of player who talks a lot. So he'll take the kick, he will give back, but I like him—he's quite fair."
Keane retired in 2006 and later moved into management with Sunderland.
But the former Old Trafford favourite is not enjoying the happiest of times at the helm of the Black Cats, with Sunderland in the Premier League relegation zone.
It has been reported that Keane himself sometimes wonders if he is up to the job at the northeast Premier League club.
Hopefully, Keane can turn his team around as he has the potential to be a fantastic manager. He is still fondly remembered as one of the greatest players ever to have played in the Premier League.
What are your thoughts on the matter?
