UFC 136 Fight Card: Predicting Who Will Win Fight, Submission & KO of the Night
On Saturday, October 8, the UFC will travel to Houston, Texas for UFC 136 in what could potentially be the greatest fight card of the entire year.
The main card is featured around Frankie Edgar, who will square off with Gray Maynard for a third time in a highly anticipated Lightweight title fight.
The second of two title fights consists of Jose Aldo who will take on No. 1 contender Kenny Florian in a Featherweight championship bout.
While every fighter is guaranteed to take home a certain amount of profit, others will take home much more.
With a large bonus in site for Fight, Submission, and Knockout of the Night, these fighters have all the more reason to leave nothing in the cage in front of a sold-out Toyota Center.
The following slides display predictions for who will win Fight, Submission, and Knockout of the Night at UFC 136.
Lets take a look.
Fight of the Night: Frankie Edgar vs. Gray Maynard III
1 of 3In one of the most anticipated bouts in UFC history, Frankie Edgar will defend his title against No. 1 contender Gray Maynard.
This will be the third time these fighters have met as Maynard defeated Edgar at a Fight Night in 2008 and the two ended in a draw at UFC 125.
If UFC 136 is anything like its last go-around, the fans in Houston won't be disappointed.
A five-round, action-packed title fight will have many Texans on their feet the entire bout.
Expect electrifying strikes, take downs, and body slams when these two square off on October 8 for the Lightweight championship.
Submission of the Night: Tiequan Zhang
2 of 3Tiequan Zhang and Darren Elkins will square off in a preliminary Featherweight bout at UFC 136.
Zhang, who will be fighting just his second career UFC bout, will look to continue his success in the 145-pound weight class.
Of Zhang's 13 careers victories, 10 of them have come by way of submission.
To make matters worse for Elkins, all 10 of them have come in the very first round of action.
Knockout of the Night: Melvin Guillard
3 of 3Melvin Guillard will enter UFC 136 looking to prove to the world why he is worthy of a Lightweight title shot when he takes on his opponent, Joe Lauzon.
While Lauzon opposes a huge threat in the submission game, Guillard has shown significant improvement in preventing his fights from going to the ground.
Arguably the most dangerous knockout artist in the UFC today, Guillard will certainly be looking to end Lauzon's night early.
Of Guillard's 29 career mixed martial arts victories, 19 have been by way of knockout—all of which have been impressive.
