Donald Driver Injury: Which Green Bay Packer Must Step Up in His Absence?
Green Bay Packers wide receiver Donald Driver left Sunday's tilt with the Denver Broncos with an injury to his left leg, and early indications are that the injury is a fairly serious one that may sideline the 13-year veteran for some time.
Driver hadn't been much of a factor in the Green Bay offense this season, catching only five passes for 51 yards in three games, but his experience and veteran savvy will still be missed by quarterback Aaron Rodgers and the other Green Bay wideouts, especially as the season progresses.
Luckily for the Packers they have depth at the wide receiver position that many teams in the National Football League would envy, so the loss of Donald Driver shouldn't have a significant impact on the Green Bay offense.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Fourth-year wide receiver Jordy Nelson picked up right where he left off in the Super Bowl, emerging as the de facto No. 2 wideout for the Packers, and he would likely move into the starting lineup should Driver miss a significant amount of time.
Wide receiver James Jones has been a non-factor in the Green Bay offense so far this season, catching only six passes to date, but his role would almost certainly grow considerably in Driver's absence. Jones has shown to be capable of producing in the past when called upon.
The Packers also have rookie wide receiver Randall Cobb, who has shown to be an electrifying, if somewhat raw, young talent. He too would likely see an increase in playing time should Driver be shelved for a while.
Finally, Green Bay also possesses one of the finest young tight ends in the league in Jermichael Finley, who is more than able to pick up the slack if asked.
The loss of a receiver like Donald Driver could be a crushing blow to many NFL offenses, but with the ridiculous depth the Green Bay Packers have at the position and a quarterback in Aaron Rodgers who is capable of finding the open man almost at will, the Packers should emerge from this injury relatively unscathed.
