College Football Rankings Week 6: 5 Surprise Rankings in the Top 25
Each week when the polls are released, there's always a few teams whose ranking raises questions. No week is exempt, and the ensuing debate is a forgone conclusion.
To that end, the Week 6 rankings of the coaches' poll does have five schools of concern.
Here's a hint: They're all in the Top 20.

No. 16 Illinois Fighting Illini
1 of 5Ron Zook's Fighting Illini are 5-0 but have three of their five wins over Arkansas State, South Dakota State and Western Michigan.
Beating Arizona State at home was their most impressive win by far, while having to come back to beat Northwestern at home was unimpressive.
Make no mistake about it, 5-0 is 5-0, but we'll see how good the Illini really are when they play Ohio State (who will have their suspended players back), Penn State in Happy Valley, Michigan, and Wisconsin later in the year.
Illinois is most certainly deserving of a ranking, but No. 16 may be a bit too high.
No. 13 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets
2 of 5Last week the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets were ranked No. 21 in the coaches' poll.
This week they are No. 13 and are 5-0 but have yet to play a ranked opponent.
That being said, they have wins over North Carolina and North Carolina State of the ACC, as well as Kansas of the Big 12, so it's definitely more impressive than Illinois.
The next three weeks are also very easy, as Tech plays Maryland, Virginia and Miami. However, hosting No. 8 Clemson in late October will be their first true test.
The Yellow Jackets have most certainly come on the scene in 2011 after beginning unranked, but with their resume of wins, being ranked in the Top 15 is a slight stretch.
No. 11 Michigan Wolverines
3 of 5At least the Michigan Wolverines have been bowling over their unranked opponents this season, with Notre Dame being the only exception.
The Wolverines have played a weak schedule thus far, in Western Michigan, Eastern Michigan, San Diego State and Minnesota.
However, since they've rolled over all four, their Top 15 ranking is very deserving, but not No. 11.
Also, it doesn't help that Michigan has played no ranked opponents, and next week they travel to unranked Northwestern, who just lost to No. 16 Illinois.
The game at now ranked-No. 20 Michigan State will be their first real test, as Sparty has gotten back on track with a tough win at Ohio State.
No. 10 Texas Longhorns
4 of 5The next two weeks is when we really find out how legit these No. 10 ranked Texas Longhorns are.
They're currently 4-0 with four wins over very weak opponents in Rice (1-3), BYU (3-2), UCLA (2-3) and Iowa State (overrated at 3-1).
This week Texas hosts No. 1 Oklahoma and then No. 7 Oklahoma State.
And if the Longhorns are worthy of their top 10 ranking, they will take each of those games down to the wire, as opposed to getting blown out.
Mack Brown's football team right now is a top 15 team, but we'll find out their true colors these next two weeks.
No. 4 Stanford Cardinal
5 of 5Don't get me wrong, the Stanford Cardinal is a top 10 team, but not quite top-five worthy just yet.
For starters, Boise State's win over Georgia is more impressive than any of Stanford's, as is Wisconsin's over Nebraska and Oklahoma State's over Texas A&M.
Even No. 8 Clemson could have a case, as they've defeated three consecutive ranked opponents, while the Cardinal have yet to face a ranked opponent.
In addition, Stanford isn't slated to play a ranked opponent until No. 9 Oregon at home in mid-November.
With a rather weak schedule despite being a BCS team, the Cardinal must annihilate every opponent if they want any shot at a national title.
