Nebraska vs. Wisconsin: How Would Both Teams Fare Against the SEC's Best?
This evening Nebraska and Wisconsin will meet on the field and the winner will be the favorite to win the Big Ten.
The winner could also make a run at an impressive BCS bowl. If that happens, then there is a chance that these teams could face off against an SEC opponent.
So the question remains, how will these teams fare against the SEC?
Nebraska
1 of 5The Cornhuskers will have a more difficult time beating the SEC. They are a very talented team, but have weaknesses that have been exposed early in the season.
One of those weaknesses is the passing game. This would play right into the strength of two of the best teams in the SEC, LSU and Alabama.
SEC Defense
2 of 5Defense is king in the SEC and LSU and Alabama lead the way with two of the best defenses in the country.
LSU is filled with NFL caliber type cornerbacks that would feast on Cornhusker quarterback Taylor Martinez. Martinez has struggled to move the offense this year and his decision making has come under fire by college football critics.
The Cornhusker defense may keep them in the game but they would not match up with the top teams in the SEC.
Wisconsin
3 of 5The Badgers are a different story because they have all the tools to play with the top teams in college football.
Since they acquired quarterback Russell Wilson, the Badgers are flexible on offense. The defense is always a strength in Wisconsin and with that kind of talent, the SEC could be in trouble.
Tonight Is a Big Game
4 of 5It seems like Nebraska would struggle against the SEC, but if they handle Wisconsin today, that opinion could change.
The Badgers have all the tools, but have to prove they can play against a top team, and the first test is tonight.
Season Changing Game
5 of 5It’s still early in the college football season, but it’s obvious how important this game is. It could set up a team to make a run for the national championship.
This could allow one of these teams to face off against the SEC and put the Big Ten on the map as a conference that should be given respect.
