NFL Predictions Week 4: Calvin Johnson and 3 Receivers Primed to Have Great Day

Dan RenfroOct 1, 2011

Calvin Johnson is a monster, and he will play like that this weekend.

That's a common prediction, but who else will beat his defender a few times this weekend? I have three guys, including Johnson, who should light up the scoreboard on Sunday.

Calvin Johnson, Detroit Lions

Johnson is a fantastic talent, and he continues to get better. With Matthew Stafford throwing him the ball, he simply can't be stopped. He has two touchdowns in each of his games up to this point, and that trend should continue.

The Dallas Cowboys don't have anyone in their secondary that can stop him, and they know it. They can only hope to outscore the Lions, which will only give Johnson more touches. This will be a monstrous week.

Prediction: Nine receptions, 187 yards, three touchdowns.

Dwayne Bowe, Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs have been terrible, and they aren't improving any time soon. That being said, they will be trailing for most of this game because Adrian Peterson will run all over them.

Accordingly, they will need to be throwing the ball all game. In addition, they don't have much on offense, except Bowe. He will get plenty of targets, and he could turn that into a big day.

Prediction: Seven receptions, 132 yards, two touchdowns.

Roddy White, Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons have struggled so far this year, especially on the road. However, this week, against a weaker Seattle Seahawks team, I think they will get back to running the ball. From there, the play-action will open up, and White should have a monster day.

Seattle doesn't have anyone who can cover him, and he should be open all day. If Matt Ryan plays well, White will put up big-time numbers.

Prediction: 11 receptions, 172 yards, three touchdowns.
