Week 3 Fantasy Football Rankings: 3 QBs Primed for Monster Games
With the ever-increasing importance of quarterback play and the passing game in the NFL, it stands to reason that quarterbacks may be the most important aspect of a fantasy team. Not everyone can end up with an elite passer like Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady or Michael Vick, though.
That isn't to say that you can't still piece together good production from the quarterback position. Quarterbacks are on a torrid pace this season in terms of 300-yard games, so good signal callers rampant right now. Here are three mid-tier quarterbacks who are in for huge games in Week 3.
Kevin Kolb, Arizona Cardinals

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Arizona Cardinals quarterback showed all the physical tools needed to succeed in the NFL while playing for the Philadelphia Eagles, so it's no surprise that he has played extremely well thus far as Arizona's starter. Kolb has averaged 280 yards per game and has four passing touchdowns through two games.
The Cardinals will face a Seattle Seahawks team this week that is essentially in disarray. The Seahawks haven't been particularly awful against the pass thus far, but they are fairly week in every aspect defensively. Passing is the Cardinals' strength, so Kolb will airing it out early and often and he stands a good chance to go over 300 yards and toss a couple scores to boot.
Ryan Fitzpatrick, Buffalo Bills
Tied for the NFL lead in passing touchdowns with seven, Buffalo Bills quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick has been an absolute revelation. The Harvard graduate has led the league-leading Buffalo offense in impressive manner over the season's first two games, and he seems extremely comfortable in Chan Gailey's spread offense.
The Bills will take on the New England Patriots who have really struggled against the pass defensively. The Pats allowed Chad Henne to throw for over 400 yards in Week 1 and surrendered more than 300 yards to Philip Rivers last weekend.
The Patriots will score their points, so Fitzpatrick figures to be throwing quite a bit, and he should have plenty of success against New England's soft pass defense.
Cam Newton, Carolina Panthers
Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton may be a rookie, but he has played like a seasoned veteran over his first two career games. Newton threw for over 400 yards against the Arizona Cardinals and Green Bay Packers respectively and has already gained much notoriety in both the real and fantasy football realms.
I wouldn't bank on a third consecutive 400-yard outing, but Newton has a very favorable matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars this week. Both the Tennessee Titans and New York Jets have passed effectively on the Jags already this season, so Newton certainly stands a chance to go over 300 yards at least. When you add in his spectacular rushing ability, Newton is a great play this week.
