WWE Monday Night Raw: 10 Ways to Keep John Laurinaitis Relevant
We saw more fracturing of the WWE establishment Monday night when John Laurinaitis openly said he thought Triple H was losing control of the company.
It just added more fuel to the fire and firmly established Laurinaitis as one of the most hated men in the WWE; it also added more gasoline to the fire that is still rampant between Kevin Nash, CM Punk and the COO of the WWE.
When he first appeared on television and rumors leaked that he was having trouble signing Punk before MITB in Chicago, I thought Laurinaitis was a stooge in the Gerald Brisco and Pat Patterson variety when they appeared on television.
Laurinaitis has more stroke and he has a greater role on screen in this angle. But he is awful on the microphone and he is stiff as a board. If he got in the ring to try and scuffle with either Triple H, CM Punk or even Kevin Nash, it wouldn't look as awkward as any skit we have seen.
That said, there are many ways we can see Laurinaitis playing this angle out. And from the looks of things from Sunday and Monday night, he has his hands and his feet entrenched in this one for the long haul.
10. Make Him the Raw General Manager
1 of 10I don't like this idea, but it serves a purpose.
He comes on the show, announcing who he is and what he does. He doesn't have a great speaking voice but he thinks he is an authority.
He could make matches, which would show the fans in the arena and the IWC that he is placing wrestlers against each other to benefit him and his cause.
9. Have Him Be the Backer of the "The Conspiracy" Everyone Is Talking About
2 of 10Now, this has to happen.
R-Truth and Mix were"fired" on Raw Monday night. There should be more fallout from it Friday evening on Smackdown.
With all the cross-brand matches, it seems to reason there will be a connection between Laurinaitis and the two misfits of the WWE.
Since this is an angle (Miz and Truth being fired), it sets up nicely for the "Invasion" of former WWE superstars to make their way back into the fold.
8. The Rock Can Take That Cell Phone, Shine It Up...
3 of 10Turn it sideways and ... Well you get the idea.
Just a shot at some comedy. Actually the cell phone is the key "player" in this entire angle.
Laurinaitis is the one who always seems to have it when trouble goes down.
He is either "The Player" or the "Pawn" in this thing.
I vote for "Player".
7. Have Him Work with Stephanie and Vince McMahon to Oust Triple H
4 of 10Somehow, I think this is already in the works.
The question becomes, "How long will the angle last to get to that point?"
We shall sit back and watch.
6. He Could Actually Wrestle
5 of 10No, that is not a good idea
As "Johnny Ace" he was a jobber. What makes you think he would be better now than he was years ago?
5. Have Him Bring in Former WWE Superstars to Feud with Triple H and CM Punk
6 of 10He seems to have already brought in Kevin Nash to claim the COO role from Triple H for Laurinaitis.
The angle of jealousy or greed is an effective one in wrestling. Laurinaitis being looked over the title he desired for Triple H because he is the son-in-law of the owner. It make sense.
Then, of course, we being to figure out which wrestlers will reappear and what their purpose on television is.
Yes, it's an nWo theme.
4. Have Him Go Back to His Former Role
7 of 10The angles that were used in this story line continue to break down, so why not this one?
If anything else changes, then Laurinaitis can go back to the behind the scenes work he has been doing and no one would really care.
His part is supposed to be bigger, but it would not matter if he disappeared.
3. He Can Continue to Do What He Is Doing Now
8 of 10Which is causing havoc and dissension in the brand.
Why an underling is so important all the sudden is beyond me.
He tried to get over with McMahon at MITB with the "Chicago Screw Job" but it failed.
As long as he seems to be up to something, this angle remains relevant.
2. The WWE Can Bring in His Brother, Animal to Kick His Ass
9 of 10Just a thought
Everyone loves "Animal" and it would be cool to see them get into a bit of a family feud.
1. He Can Be on the Nash Team at Survivor Series
10 of 10Again, not a good idea. But JJ Dillion wrestled.
Paul Ellering wrestled.
Even Eric Bischoff wrestled.
Seeing Johnny Ace in this situation would not surprise me one bit.
And of course, control of the WWE would be at stake.
