UFC Undisputed 3: 10 WEC Fighters Who Need to Be Added to This Year's Roster

Tim McTiernanSep 20, 2011

UFC Undisputed will release the third installment on January 3, 2012.

So far, they've made many announcements about the changes to the game, and this and that, but one thing that they have neglected is the roster.

They have said there are over 150 fighters in the game, but unfortunately, the official date for the roster release was pushed back by several weeks.

Here's a quick look at 10 WEC fighters who need to be added to this year's roster.

Stay tuned for the rest of the week to see more fighters who need to be added.

Dominick Cruz

1 of 11

We'll kick this list off with the king of the little guys, Dominick Cruz.

Cruz is the current bantamweight champion of the UFC, and the former, and final, champion of the WEC.

Cruz has previously competed at featherweight, so it is expected that Cruz will also be featured in that division.

Chances Featured in Game: 100 percent

Urijah Faber

2 of 11

Can't have Cruz without Faber, can you?

Urijah Faber is the former WEC featherweight champion, and a current bantamweight in the UFC.

As with Cruz, Faber is likely to be featured in both divisions, and as a fan favorite and well known fighter, Faber will be one of the most used new fighters.

Chances Featured in Game: 100 percent

Joseph Benavidez

3 of 11

Joseph Benavidez is the consensus No. 2 bantamweight fighter in the world.

Benavidez is 15-2 in his career, and his only two losses have both come to the champ, Dominick Cruz.

Benavidez is clearly a top tier fighter, and he trains with Urijah Faber, so they're both only going to get better.

Chances Featured in Game: 100 percent

Demetrious Johnson

4 of 11

Demetrious Johnson is the current No. 1 contender to the UFC bantamweight title, and he fights Dominick Cruz for it on October 1.

Johnson is one of the smallest fighters on the UFC roster, and he stands at only 5'3''.

Expect your smaller players to gravitate towards fighters like Johnson.

Chances Featured in Game: 100 percent

Jose Aldo

5 of 11

Jose Aldo is the current UFC featherweight champion, and the former and final WEC featherweight champion.

Aldo is one of the youngest and most explosive fighters in the game, and at only 25 years old, he's not even reached his athletic peak yet.

For highlight reel knockouts, look no further than Aldo.

Chances Featured in Game: 100 percent

Chad Mendes

6 of 11

Chad Mendes is the current No. 1 contender to the featherweight title (after Kenny Florian) and his undefeated record backs that up.

Mendes is 11-0, and uses his wrestling to win fights over top tier competition.

Mendes is another young fighter, and at only 26 years old, he's got some good fights ahead of him.

Chances Featured in Game: 100 percent

Mark Hominick

7 of 11

Mark Hominick, known to some as the man who had a basketball growing out of his head, is a one-time challenger to the UFC featherweight title.

Hominick earned the respect of many fans at UFC 129, where, with a hematoma growing out of his head, he put on an incredible and gutsy performance against Jose Aldo.

Unfortunately, it wasn't enough, and he lost a unanimous decision.

Chances Featured in Game: 100 percent

Anthony Pettis

8 of 11

Anthony Pettis is the former, and final, WEC lightweight champion.

Pettis is known to many for pulling off the "Showtime Kick," where he leapt off the fence and kicked Ben Henderson in the face at WEC 53.

Since that time, Pettis lost his No. 1 contendership by dropping a unanimous decision to Clay Guida.

Chances Featured in Game: 100 percent

Ben Henderson

9 of 11

Ben Henderson, also known as "the guy on the receiving end of the Showtime kick," is one of the fastest rising stars in the UFC since coming over from the WEC.

At WEC 53, he lost the lightweight title to Anthony Pettis, but since then, he has rattled off two straight unanimous decision victories, including one over the consensus No. 3 UFC lightweight, Jim Miller.

Henderson now finds himself in a likely No. 1 contender match against Clay Guida at UFC on Fox 1.

Chances Featured in Game: 100 percent

Donald Cerrone

10 of 11

Donald Cerrone, also known as the luckiest man on the planet, is one of the top lightweights in the UFC, and one of the best lightweights to come over from the WEC.

Cerrone has gone 3-0 since joining the UFC, and has been more than willing to step up and fight whoever, whenever, wherever, which must have him on Dana White's good side.

Cerrone has a lethal combination of slick jiu jitsu and deadly muay thai, which makes him a handful for anyone.

Chances Featured in Game: 100 percent

Who Did I Forget?

Did I forget your favorite WEC fighter?

Let me know in the comments!

Stay tuned the rest of the week for more fighters who need to be in the game.

In the meantime, every slideshow needs a little Brittney.
