Tim Tebow Wide Receiver: Broncos Not Helping Themselves by Using Tebow at WR
It's not unheard of for quarterbacks to be converted into wide receivers. Players like Antwaan Randle El and Ronald Curry stand out as notable examples that it can be done.
Maybe, just maybe, Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow will be the next guy to throw his name into the mix.
In case you haven't heard the news, the Broncos found themselves in need of a wide receiver when Eddie Royal went down with an injury in today's game against the Cincinnati Bengals. Next thing you knew, there was Tebow in the slot.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Probably not what all those people who were chanting Tebow's name last Monday had in mind, but there he stood.
Too bad Tebow didn't come up with any catches to show for his time out wide. In fact, he wasn't even targeted by Kyle Orton, who finished the first half with 97 yards passing.
Still, the question that has to be asked here is a simple one: are the Broncos on to something with Tebow? Is using him as a wide receiver the best thing for the team going forward?
Personally, I think the answer is a resounding no. Pro Football Focus reported that Tebow was Denver's "emergency" wide receiver for today's game, and he entered the game in a situation that can appropriately be called an emergency. The Broncos needed a wide receiver after Royal went down, and Tebow was the next guy on the chart.
Besides, it's not like the plan was ever to get Tebow the ball. He ended up blocking on a run by Lance Ball, and that was that.
Might we see more of Tebow in the second half, which has just begun? Maybe, but I highly doubt the Broncos would use him for anything more than blocking. Given his size and strength, that's probably where he's most useful anyway.
The more interesting question, I think, is whether or not this move is going to quell any of the unrest among the fans. After all, they wanted to see Tebow, and Broncos head coach John Fox figured out a clever way to make it happen.
But come on. I think you and I both know that Tebow's most steadfast supporters (which there are a lot of) are not going to be satisfied with seeing Tebow make a cameo at wide receiver. People want to see him under center, and they're not going to shut up until they see just that.
If anything, my guess is that these same people are actually rather annoyed that Fox thought to use Tebow at wide receiver. The decision was a necessity, but some might view it as a copout.
I'm not saying that's what I believe, mind you. I bring it up because one can't help but notice that the majority of Tebow fans tend to check their rationality at the door.
