WWE Night of Champions 2011 Predictions: 5 Biggest Winners at Night of Champions

Jun 7, 2018

With WWE’s Night of Champions PPV just a few days away, airing on September 18th at 8:00 PM EDT, the excitement over the event is climbing to a fever pitch.

While this is not one of the WWE’s Big-Four of wrestling PPV’s, the fact that all of the belts are on the line will make it one of the most interesting shows of the year.

Just like every PPV that came before this one, there will be winners and losers, and the winners will be in line for a serious push to close 2011.

As we get ready for the show, it’s time to unveil my predictions for the top five winners that will come out of the Night of Champions PPV. Enjoy!

Check back for more on the NFL world as it comes, and check out Bleacher Report’s Football Page to get your fill of the NFL.

5. Mark Henry

1 of 5

With the recent push that Mark Henry has gotten on both SmackDown and Super Raw, there is no doubt that he will get a reign with the title.

While Henry will be the winner, the fans will be subjected to one of the most mediocre title matches in history when Henry botches his way to a win against Randy Orton.

I don’t like Orton, but he will be the only thing that can make this match bearable, but, I know that Mark Henry will relinquish the belt soon enough and the only reason he got it in the first place was because the WWE felt bad for stiffing him for 15 years.

4. Alberto Del Rio

2 of 5

While everyone under the sun knows that John Cena is the WWE’s favorite child, he will not beat Alberto Del Rio at Night of Champions.

I don’t think Del Rio will win the match clean, but he will definitely retain the title to further the feud and further put Del Rio over as a heel. The WWE could get him over big if Del Rio wins by cheating.

John Cena will never lose his relevance to the crowd, and by allowing Del Rio to win, the WWE would be crafting a well-thought-out storyline, something that hasn’t happened in WWE for years.

3. Alex Riley

3 of 5

While it may seem too premature for the WWE to give Alex Riley, a relative newcomer, the US title, this proves how little the WWE cares about the secondary titles.

Riley is a good personality and face, but his wrestling skills leave a lot to be desired and he will end up being no more than a temporary champion.

Riley needs a ton of work before he can get over with the crowd, but from all indications, the WWE is willing to push this kid hard until the wheels fall off. That’s not a surprise.

2. Miz and R-Truth

4 of 5

The WWE, with Triple H in charge, had the idea of revamping the dying tag-team division, and the first big step in this process will be at Night of Champions.

With the tag straps on the line, the WWE will be pitting the two tag teams they have been hyping for weeks against each other in what could become a stacked tag division.

This is already one of the best feuds in the WWE with the fact that Air Boom are so clearly faces and Awesome Truth are obviously heels. It’s so easy for people to get behind that they can’t help but enjoy it.

1. Kevin Nash

5 of 5

Yes, Kevin Nash will steal the show at another WWE PPV.

While Triple H fired Kevin Nash, the WWE director of talent relations John Laurinaitis was seen leaving the building two weeks ago with Nash. If that’s not foreshadowing, I don’t know what is.

The WWE website then released a statement saying that the company had let the former World Champion go, and it made it an even better work.

With Triple H and CM Punk both being over to the point that a loss would hurt their character considerably, the only logical finish would be a dirty win with Kevin Nash helping one of the two men.

Who he helps is anyone’s guess, though.
