Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
He was having a great game despite being defended by the best cornerback in the game in Darrelle Revis.
In the third quarter Bryant had three catches for 71 yards when he began to suffer from some serious cramps. They were bad enough that Bryant was taken to the locker room to get further examination.
Here is all of the up-to-date information on Bryant:
•Latest Update: Back in Action
After missing a large chunk of the third quarter, Bryant was seen back on the field with around four minutes in the period.
He seemed to be running just fine with no lingering effects from the cramps.
•Fantasy Impact: Minimal
Fantasy owners missed out on about half a quarter's worth of action with Bryant. He got re-hydrated in the locker room and returned to his customary role of receiver and punt return man.
Cowboy fans and Bryant fantasy owners can all breathe a sigh of relief.
•Who is the backup?
Kevin Olgetree stepped in for Bryant and had little impact. It's a reminder that the Cowboys don't have much depth at receiver, and if Bryant or Miles Austin miss extended time...it's going to be a long season.
•Devastation Scale: 1
With the lack of offseason workouts and full of season to train, it was expected that players would be cramping up often during opening weekend.
Bryant was just the latest example. There aren't any long-term effects to be concerned about.
•What They re Saying: Twitter was chalk-full of panic when Bryant first left the field. At one point Bryant was trending worldwide on the social media outlet.
People were very interested.
But once the NBC broadcast reporter that the injury was nothing more than cramps, the tone quickly shifted.
Here's one fantasy owner that hopes the cramps won't be an issue every week:
I'd feel better about drafting Dez Bryant in almost every fantasy league I'm in if he wasn't such a woman with those cramps.
ESPN analyst John Clayton puts it in a way everyone can understand:
"By the way, I know he cramped up, but Dez Bryant is the beast of a receiver I thought he would be. The guy is money
"
The Cowboys dodged a bullet and have a healthy receiver in Bryant that will be a star in this league very soon.
