Panthers' LB Jon Beason Expected to Miss Significant Time with Leg Injury
Carolina Panthers linebacker Jon Beason was carted off the field in the third quarter of their game against the Arizona Cardinals after re-injuring his his left ankle he had surgery on in the off-season.
According to the Associated Press, Beason was limited in practice because of the ankle injury, still started the game and compiled four tackles before being injured.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
The latest on Beason is that he will be out for the season. According to Steve Reed of the Gaston Gazette, Beason tore his left Achilles tendon in during the third quarter, citing two sources.
Reed also said that Beason will have an MRI on Monday, confirming the injury.
When is He Ready to Return?
It looks like Beason is done for the season, and won't be back until next season.
Fantasy Impact
The fantasy impact is not too large, as Beason isn't the only player on the Panthers' defense that racks up points.
Those owners that do have the Panthers' defense, which is very few, will have one less playmaker on defense.
Expect, though, to get just about the same amount of points out of Carolina's defense.
What They're Saying
Joe Person of the Charlotte Observer tweeted this on the Beason injury:
"Doesn't sound good look good for LB Jon Beason. Ron Rivera said situation was 'dire.' But will await results of MRI on his left foot."
ESPN's Pat Yasinskas also weighed in on the Beason injury, taking to ESPN's NFC South blog,
"Beason is a tough competitor and I have no doubt he wanted to play in the opener. But maybe higher powers should have been a little more cautious and made Beason sit out."
Obviously there is little doubt that Beason will not be back this season and questioning the decision to play Beason so soon should become the main focus as the story moves forward.
