Top 10 Submissions We Must See Pulled off in the UFC
Back at UFC Fight Night 24, Chan Sung Jung had a UFC first.
In a rematch of their WEC 47 fight, Chan Sung Jung took on Leonard "Bad Boy" Garcia, and in the second round, Jung made history.
Jung got Garcia to submit to an Eddie Bravo move, "the Twister."
It was the first time that the twister had ever been successfully executed in the UFC.
Here are 10 other submissions that we simply have to see in the UFC.
Helicopter Armbar
1 of 11A favorite of one of my friends at the gym, the helicopter armbar requires some insane leg strength.
Good luck pulling this one off on someone who doesn't weigh a lot less than you.
Gogoplata
2 of 11The gogoplata has been pulled off numerous times outside of the UFC (see Brad Imes or Shinya Aoki), but I can say with 90 percent certainty that it has not been pulled off inside the Octagon.
All the more reason to get Aoki!
Bicep Slicer
3 of 11The bicep slicer is one of the most painful submissions in MMA.
It's pain is on the same level as the heel hook. It's that bad.
Calf Slicer
4 of 11Ah! The bicep slicer's cousin, the calf slicer.
Same exact concept, and same level of pain.
Banana Split
5 of 11My new favorite.
On a side note, nobody wants to roll with me anymore at the gym anymore, but I can't seem to figure out why.
My friend got caught in this last year during wrestling, and was out for about a week.
Sambo Leg Lock
6 of 11One would have to assume Fedor has this somewhere in his arsenal.
It'd be interesting to see if he could actually pull it off.
Can Opener
7 of 11Another submission that would be difficult to pull off, not because of it's difficulty, but simply because most guys can get out of it quickly.
Monoplata
8 of 11Similar to the omoplata, the only difference being that you trap one arm.
The Crucifix Neck Crank
9 of 11You don't have to do what Gary Goodridge did to Paul Herrera at UFC 8 when you have the crucifix.
You could just be merciful and make him tap.
Flying Scissor Heel Hook
10 of 11You had to know this one would show up!
