Brock Lesnar: 5 Things His Return to the Sport Would Mean
Recently, it has been reported that Brock Lesnar has been told that he should not continue fighting.
He has recently recovered from a second bout with diverticulitis, and the doctors recommend that he not continue fighting due to the amount of stress it puts on his body.
Others out there are saying that, in light of all this, Brock should retire, and there is an argument for that.
However, here are five things that his return to the sport of MMA would mean.
Return of a Heavyweight Contender
1 of 6Many people may forget this, but Lesnar is only one fight removed from being the heavyweight champion.
And yes, Cain Velasquez made him look bad. Hell, Cain made him look like an amateur.
But Lesnar is still only one fight removed from the belt.
If he ever comes back, his name immediately gets thrown into the title picture, and he could be fighting for the belt again with one victory.
A Massive PPV
2 of 6Lesnar has headlined four PPVs in his time with the UFC. All four broke the one-million-buy mark.
They are four of the top six PPVs in UFC history.
When he comes back, the UFC will put on a huge show, and it has the potential to be the most purchased UFC event ever.
Massive Amounts of Hype
3 of 6If Lesnar comes back, the UFC hype machine will be thrown into overdrive.
Everyone and their grandma will know that Lesnar is back to fight another day.
He is a name that the casual fans recognize, and the UFC capitalizes on that as much as they can. His return this time will be no different.
More Fans to the Sport
4 of 6As I said on the last slide, Lesnar is a name that casual fans recognize, and with that, he brings new fans to the sport.
UFC fans may not like to admit it, but Lesnar did bring in a large number of WWE fans who are now interested in, and follow, MMA.
Lesnar has been integral in the recent growth of the UFC, and there's no doubting that.
That Lesnar Is One of the Toughest SOB's Around
5 of 6If Lesnar comes back to fight another day, it will be the second time he has had to deal with a case of diverticulitis and has still come back to fight.
If Lesnar comes back to fight another day, it will be against doctor's orders.
If Lesnar comes back to fight another day, he will prove that he is one of the toughest SOBs around.
Anyone who disagrees with me should feel free to take it up with him...
