Aaron Curry: Curb Your Enthusiasm, Seattle Seahawks Fans
Aaron Curry took an important first step towards his likely departure from Seattle with the restructuring of his contract in what appears to be a mutual agreement between the third-year linebacker and Seahawks management.
Generally speaking, Curry has been a disappointment for the 'Hawks over the course of his short tenure in Seattle. But it's not like the safest pick in the 2009 draft failed to come without a few warning signs—including this gem from Sports Illustrated's Peter King that has been etched in my mind for years:
""I spent 45 minutes with him on the phone the other day, and either he's the biggest actor I've ever chatted up, or he's a terrific kid I'd want one of my daughters to marry. And every NFL guy I've mentioned Curry to raves about him. Even though it probably hurt his draft status, Curry told me he has no regrets about the Wake Forest defensive game plan rarely calling for him to pass-rush."

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Unfortunately, the narrative hasn't changed much since and seems unlikely to improve with this move.
Understand that I do like Curry and want to see him get it together in a 'Hawks uniform. Nevertheless, you get the feeling that if they didn't have money on the table, Pete Carroll and John Schneider would have personally helped him pack his bags after his performance this past weekend against the Vikings.
With all of the other moves Carroll and Schneider continue to make, I feel like we're watching a married couple that can't seem to figure out how to arrange the furniture in the house.
Are these guys simply that repulsed by what the previous brain trust running the team was doing?
Are they even sure of the moves they've made?
Meanwhile, does Kelly Jennings have compromising photos of Carroll and Schneider hidden somewhere? Otherwise, how does he end up back in uniform with the 'Hawks?
When exactly should we expect to see Marcus Trufant get the boot?
For now, I suppose we have little choice but to sit down, take a deep breath and wait to see what Carroll and Schneider do next. Just try not get too comfy; otherwise you might end up on the curb with everyone else.
