WWE: The Top 100 Catchphrases in WWE History

Welcome to another slideshow.

A couple of months ago, I did a slideshow ranking the 25 best catchphrases in the WWE. Some agreed with my list, others didn't.

I took your suggestions on board and made a definitive list based on your suggestions.

This is ordered how you asked it to be ordered.

100. Raven: “Quote the Raven Nevermore”

I’m not certain he used this in WWE, but it was certainly very popular within ECW, despite it being a complete rip off of Edgar Allen Poe.

99. D-Von Dudley: “Testify!!!”

Oh brothers testify!

D-Von was religious and I never even noticed until he became Reverend D-Von.

It is so obvious to me now that I feel as stupid as I don’t know what!

How did I miss that?!

98. The BoogeyMan: “I’m the BoogeyMan and I’m Coming to Get You!”

What child wouldn’t be scared of this?

I’m 20 and I’m scared of the worm eating psycho.

He said it in such a creepy voice as well.

Eww.

97. The Godfather: “It’s Time, Once Again, to Get Aboard the Ho Train!”

I love this catchphrase! Godfather always had a pre-match routine where he would try and buy a win by offering the services of his women.

But before this, he would rally support from the crowd getting them into his character by asking them to come aboard the Ho Train!

This was definitely a lot of fun for the audience.

96. R-Truth: “What’s Up!”

Before he became awesome, R-Truth would rap his way down to the ring, shouting this now god-awful catchphrase to all the Lil’ Jimmys.

95. Joey Styles: “Oh My God!”

The shrill voice of Joey Styles made ECW matches that much more exciting.

His “Oh My God!” catchphrase is almost as famous as Jim Ross’ version.

Every time something extreme happened, this would be heard. He was one of the people who made ECW what it was.

94. Jim Ross: “Oh Mah Gawd!”

From one “Oh My God!” to another—Jim Ross’ version has more of a southern tone to it hence the spelling.

It was usually followed up by a “Good God Almighty!” depending on what had happened.

The one that sticks out to me, was his reaction to when Mankind was thrown off the cell.

93. Jim Ross: “Whippin’ Him Like a Government Mule!”

Obviously used when someone was being whipped, this swiftly became one of J.R’s most famous catchphrases.

It is often parodied when someone is imitating the Hall of Famer.

92. Jim Ross: “Stone Cold! Stone Cold! Stone Cold!”

I never tired of hearing J.R getting over-excited when Stone Cold was beating a heel up, or everyone for that matter.

Even Jerry Lawler had to calm him down at No Way Out...

91. Jim Ross: “Nobody Does Pay-Per-View Like the WWF!”

He was correct when he said this.

Nobody did do pay-per-view like the WWF.

This has since become a distant memory and we all wish we had reason to say this again.

Was Money in the Bank 2011 a flicker of light in the world of professional wrestling?

Only time will tell.

90. Jim Ross: “This Is a Slobberknocker!”

Another one of Jim Ross’ extremely famous catchphrases.

He used this when people threw catch as catch can wrestling out of the window and just wanted to fight.

This is almost always spoken when people are imitating JR.

89. The Dudley Boyz: "Whassaaaaaap!"

The Dudley Boyz usually shouted this just before D-Von would fly off the top rope—head first into his opponent’s no-go area.

They even performed the move on a couple of Divas.

Tori was subjected to it once. D-Von knocked himself out and couldn’t get up.

88. Jerry Lawler: “Puppies!”

He still gets excited now when he sees the Divas arrived, but the use of the term “Puppies” has faded out of existence. Ahh the good old days—you knew where you were with Puppies.

87. Val Venis: “Hello Ladies!”

This never failed to excite the ladies in the audience.

Val Venis’ raspy voice echoed this catchphrase at the audience while a woman was focused on camera.

This was due to Venis’ character background of being a successful porn star.

Flirting with the audience was a big part of his entrance and resulted in this memorable catchphrase.

It even featured on the start of his music

86. Michael Cole: “Vintage!”

Michael Cole used this word excessively when he became the main commentator and the voice of the WWE.

Now people just hate him and this catchphrase, though it is one of the best of all time because so many people have a strong feeling about it.

85. Brother Love: “I Love You”

Preaching the word of love, Brother Love’s catchphrase expressed this love. I love you!

84. The Hurricane: “What’s Up with That?”

You tell me.

83. Dude Love: “OWWWW Have Mercy!”

Hip people quite clearly say things like this.

82. Owen Hart: “I’m Not a Nugget!”

This referred to a nugget of poo on the side of the toilet that one just cannot get rid of no matter how many times it is flushed.

Shawn Michaels was the driving force behind this during a parody of The Nation of Domination.

This led to chants of “Nugget”, and Owen playing up to this by shouting “I am not a Nugget!”

81. Lance Storm: “If I Can Be Serious for a Moment”

When Storm eventually came to the WWE, he was presented as someone with no sense of humour, and who was serious all the time.

This sarcastic catchphrase fitted his character perfectly.

80. Funaki : “INDEEED!”

Taka Minchinoku would talk for about 5 minutes in his native language with a horrendous overdub, pass the mic to Funaki and this overdubbed "INDEED!" would boom across the arena to great laughs and cheers.

This was before he became SmackDown’s No. 1 announcer, obviously.

79. Kofi Kingston: “Boom, Boom, Boom!”

Accompanied by the new pyrotechnics he has been given, this catchphrase has some oomph! He also uses it for his boom drop signature manoeuvre.

78. Road Dogg: “It’s Me, It’s Me, It’s That D-O Double G!”

Used when Road Dogg competed in singles competition—as rare as it was.

77. Scott Hall: “Hey Yo”

This got a huge pop at No Way Out 2002, as it referenced his Razor Ramon character from the nineties. Not one of my favourites though...

76. Jeff Jarrett: “Ain’t I Great!”

If you say so Jeff.

75. Buddy Rogers: “To a Nicer Guy, It Couldn’t Have Happened”

Whenever he was victorious, Buddy Rogers would say this to infuriate them further, as he accentuated his smugness.

74. Hulk Hogan: “Brother!”

You know brother, some may argue brother, that this isn’t a catchphrase brother and maybe it isn’t brother, but he said it so much brother, that I assumed it must be brother, so I put it in the list brother.

73. Paul Bearer: “Oh Yes!”

Paul Bearer would scream this at ringside when The Undertaker or Kane were in control of their respective matches.

72. Ron Simmons: “Damn!”

An extremely funny catchphrase that allows Ron Simmons to make a cameo every once in a while.

It is usually spoken when someone has said/done something shocking backstage.

It was very popular when Simmons made regular appearances with the company, even spawning a T-shirt.

71. Scott Steiner: "Holla! If Ya Hear Me!"

This was an awesome catchphrase and a great way to kick off his entrance music.

I loved it when this interrupted Triple H in 2003.

70. Cactus Jack: “Bang! Bang!”

Short but sweet, these were the words of a deranged madman who would put his own body on the line just to injure his opponent.

This catchphrase was accompanied by two hand gestures shaped like guns and usually followed a gratuitous move to his opponent.

Have a nice day!

69. The Audience: “You Suck, You Suck!”

Yep, no-one is left out of this slideshow, least of all you lot!

The WWE audience managed to place “You Suck” seamlessly into his theme tune.

This was obviously before he became a fan favourite and happened in much the same way the audience chanted “Rocky sucks” when the Great One started out.

68. Michael Cole: “And I Quote!”

This catchphrase has worked over the past year to get Cole incredible amounts of heat every time he says it.

I have trouble hearing the GM announcement because of the echoing boos throughout the arena.

67. Michael Cole: “Can I Have Your Attention Please?!”

People may not like him, but this catchphrase certainly gets people’s attention. It gives them all a chance to boo.

66. Eddie Guerrero: “Viva La Raza!”

Meaning “Long live the race”, Eddie Guerrero used this catchphrase consistently throughout his career.

65. The Million Dollar Man: “Everybody’s Got a Price!”

Some are more expensive than others though Ted.

64. Goldberg: “You’re Next”

Whoever was next was usually crushed.

Until Kevin Nash decided he was too big to lose to Goldberg.

63. JBL: “I Am a Wrestling God”

This catchphrase from JBL ruffled many feathers in the WWE Universe.

Many felt that JBL did not wrestle enough, and was more of a brawler type, therefore didn’t deserve this nickname he gave himself.

But wasn’t that the point?

62. Razor Ramon: “Say Hello to the Bad Guy!”

This is more like it! Razor Ramon was a brilliant character who never won the WWF title.

Despite this, he was an extremely successful singles competitor, and this catchphrase helped to catapult him to the forefront of people’s minds.

61. John Cena: “The Champ Is Here!”

He is, and many people think he sucks.

However, there is no doubt that he and his catchphrase are extremely famous.

It is currently used on the starting titles for WWE programming.

60. Bubba Ray Dudley: “D-Von! Get the Tables!”

Here is a catchphrase everyone wanted to hear every time the Dudley Boyz were wrestling.

This meant that they were going to get wood! It would usually mean someone from the opposite team would be going through a table, and it was always met with resounding cheers.

Banners would be held up displaying the catchphrase.

Needless to say, it was more than popular in the Attitude Era and was just another great catchphrase from another tag team. (Remember tag teams?)

59. Edge & Christian: “Now for the Benefit of Those with Flash Photography”

During the height of their success as the best tag team in the WWF, Edge and Christian used to prompt the audience to take pictures of them in a selection of poses.

58. R-Truth: “Lil’ Jimmy!”

The first of three new catchphrases for R-Truth.

He has named all children Lil’ Jimmys.

57. R-Truth: “You Gown Get Got!”

The second of the three new catchphrases for R-Truth.

This doesn't make any sense but that’s what’s funny about it.

56. R-Truth: “Don’t Be Booing Me, You Should Be Booing Yourselves!”

My favourite of the three is this catchphrase.

When he first said it, it was really funny, and showed how he could interact with the audience during his promos.

Now he says it every time he is booed, but I don’t think it has lost any of its humour in this short time.

55. Mr Kennedy: “MR Kennedy!...Kennedy...”

Mr. Kennedy, now known as Mr. Anderson, is well known for having exceptional skills on the mic. So it is no surprise that his catchphrase has made it onto my list.

He introduced himself before every match in an exaggerated, old-fashioned manner—more like a boxing ring announcer than a wrestling one. 

It was entertaining to watch and one of the most memorable from my time watching wrestling.

54. Macho Man Randy Savage: “Oh Yeah!”

RIP Macho Man Randy Savage.

This catchphrase sounded even better because of Macho Man’s gruff voice.

53. L.O.D: “Eeeeeeeeuuuuurghh, What a Rush!”

L.O.D, one of the most famous tag-teams of all time, had this catchphrase as the opening of their entrance music.

Hawk was the one with the raspy voice who pulled this off and made the team seem even more odd and extroverted.

52. Mankind: “Have a Nice Day!”

Why thank you Mankind, you too.

51. Zack Ryder: “Woo, Woo, Woo, You Know It!”

This catchphrase has taken the IWC by storm.

Everyone has jumped on the Zack Ryder bandwagon and are now campaigning for WWEshop.com to sell the headbands Zack Ryder wears, complete with this catchphrase.

Woo, Woo, Woo, you know it bro.

50. Eddie Guerrero: “I Lie, I Cheat, I Steal”

I got a confession!

I didn’t really, this was Eddie Guerrero’s catchphrase, emphasising his dirty tactics during his matches.

Eddie was one of the dirtiest players of his time and would literally do anything to win.

49. Rob Van Dam: “Rob Van Dam!”

It takes a special kind of man to use his own name as a catchphrase.

He would point at himself and let the crowd say it for him at the height of his popularity.

48. Vicky Guerrero: “Excuse Me!”

Why? Did you just break wind?

47. Roddy Piper: “Just When You Think You Know the Answer..."

"Just When You Think You Know the Answer...I Change the Question!"

I was never a fan of this catchphrase, but I can’t deny its popularity.

During his interview segment “Piper’s Pit”, Roddy would use this catchphrase when interviewing wrestlers, creating confusion and a humorous piece of television.

46. Goldust: “You Will Never Forget the Name of Goldust”

Who was that bloke that used to wrestle for WWE...dressed in gold and kicked people in the knackers? His name slips my mind...

45. Ric Flair: “To Be the Man, You Gotta Beat the Man!”

Truer words were never spoken.

44. Ric Flair: “I'm a Limousine Ridin’...”

“I'm a Limousine Ridin’, Jet Flyin’, Wheelin’ Dealin’, Son of a Gun”

This encapsulates Ric Flair’s expensive lifestyle in one brilliant catchphrase.  

Not only does it rhyme, but it rolls off the tongue and makes Flair sound better than everyone else.

43. Ric Flair: “I'm Every Woman's Dream and Every Man's Nightmare”

This catchphrase is one of the manliest comments I’ve ever heard.

Every woman wants to have Flair, every man is scared of Flair.

What a lad.

42. The Miz: “Really?”

Really.

41. Booker T: “Can You Dig That Sucka?”

This is the start to his entrance music and he has even started injecting the catchphrase into his commentary.

It is a decent catchphrase, but it’s not on the same level as some of the others in this list in terms of quality. No one really joined in when it was spoken.

40. Stone Cold Steve Austin: “Austin 3:16 Says I Just Whipped Your Ass!”

King of the Ring 1996.

Who could forget?

The birth of 3:16!

Nobody really expected a win for Austin at the competition, as Jake the Snake seemed a shoe in to win.

However, he put over Austin and he cut one of the best promos of his life, quoting the bible, and replacing it with his own version.

39. Road Dogg: “Oh You Didn’t Know? Your A** Better Call Somebody!”

Road Dogg would open his entrance music live with this statement. Everyone joined in and arenas exploded when the New Age Outlaws made an appearance.

38. Kurt Angle: “It’s True, It’s True”

Oh it’s damn true!

37. CM Punk: “I Am the Best Wrestler in the World!”

Not according to Jericho...

Punk has become ridiculously popular since his shoot angle a couple of weeks ago, which is still on going to this day.

This catchphrase has just been printed on a new t-shirt, which nearly everyone was wearing at Money in the Bank 2011.

36. Alberto Del Rio: “My Name..."

"My Name...My name Is Alberto Del Riiiiiiiiio! But You Already Knew That...”

I didn’t know that the first time he said it.

35. Chris Jericho: I Am the Ayatollah, of Rock and Rolla!”

Originally stolen from the film Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior.

It fitted Jericho’s character perfectly and well, everything is stolen from something right?

34. Shawn Michaels: “I Am the Showstopper, the Icon, the Main Event!”

You’re Mr. WrestleMania as well lest we forget.

Is there anything Shawn Michaels isn’t?

33. John Cena: “You Can’t See Me!”

We can John, as much as we wish we couldn’t.

In all fairness this is quite a widespread catchphrase and extremely well known at the height of his popularity.

It is the name of his entrance theme.

32. Chris Jericho: “I Am the Best in the World at What I Do!”

Punk has sort of nicked this off Jericho quite recently and it is because of this, that I am anticipating a Jericho return, so he can challenge Punk.

To be fair, Chris Jericho is one of the best wrestlers ever to grace a WWE ring, so this catchphrase is not exactly unfounded.

31. Triple H: “I Am the Game and I Am That Damn Good!”

This was used more in Triple H’s rise in power as he adopted “The Game” as his nickname.

Trying to make a name for himself as the top guy in the company, The Game promoted himself by using this catchphrase.

It will probably go over the head of those who know Triple H as he is now, but during the Attitude Era, the crowd could be heard shouting alongside this catchphrase that helped secure Triple H’s position as the top guy.

30. The Miz: “Cos I’m the Miz! and I’m Awesome!”

Everything about this catchphrase shows it has the potential to become as big as the Rock’s.

It isn’t as big now, because The Miz hasn’t been a face for a long time.

However, once he gets the crowd behind him, there’s no reason why the whole arena won’t join him in saying it. A few already do.

29. Chris Jericho: “They Will Never, Eeeeeever!, Be the Same, Again!”

The first time I heard this catchphrase was at the Royal Rumble in 2000. I wondered what it was all about but I soon realised that it was just what he did.

He made “again” rhyme with “same”.

It usually finished off a fairly good promo by the Lionheart.

28. John Cena: “You Want Some...Come Get Some”

John Cena’s catchphrase before “You can’t see me.”

Many people prefer this one from his thuganomics gimmick, and it is much like The Rock’s “Just Bring It.” It showed a bit of attitude and showed that Cena had a fire in his belly.

After writing this, I realise that despite it not being as well known as “you can’t see me” it is quite clearly the better catchphrase.

27. Chris Jericho: “Would You Please, SHUT the HELL, UP!”

Manners maketh man.

Jericho used this catchphrase when other wrestlers rambled on with themselves.

This usually allowed him to cut an amazing promo.

26. Chris Jericho: “Welcome to (insert Event Here) Is Jericho!”

Raw, WrestleMania, SmackDown—it didn’t matter.

Everything is Jericho!

Bleacher is Jericho!

WWE is Jericho!

I am Jericho!

Just to clarify—I’m not really Jericho.

25. The Rock “You Sick Freak!”

Used on Jonathan Coachman more than anyone else, this catchphrase was invented towards the end of the Rock’s active WWE career.

Don’t mention cows infront of Coachman.

24. The Rock: “Do You Like Pie?”

Yes Rock, yes I do.

23. The Rock: “The Rock Says...”

The Rock says this, The Rock says that.

He says a lot of things, and this was one of his most well used catchphrases.

It didn’t have any oomph, it was primarily used to emphasise the fact that he addressed himself in the third person.

22. The Rock: “Just Bring It!”

This catchphrase is not complete without the arm actions accompanying it.

21. The Rock: “The Rock Will..."

“The Rock Will Take You Down To Know Your Role Boulevard, on the Corner of Jabroni Drive and Check You Into the SmackDown Hotel!”

He’s even created a whole fantasy world for himself.

It’s a metaphor, meaning he will defeat his opponent.

20. The Rock: “The Trail-Blazin’, Eyebrow Raisin’..."

“The Trail-blazin’, Eyebrow Raisin’, Jabroni Beatin’, Pie Eatin’, Heart Stoppin’, Elbow Droppin’, Peoples Champ, The Rock!"

“Jabroni Beatin’, Pie Eatin’, Trail Blazin’, Eyebrow Raisin’, the Best in the Present, Future and Past, and If Ya'll Don't Like Me, You Can Kiss the People's Ass!”

There are many different varieties of this catchphrase and these are just two for your pleasure.

Me writing them down does not do them justice.

You have to hear them to appreciate how funny each version is.

19. The Rock: “The Rock Guaran-Damn-Tees!”

He used a “Guaran-damn-tee” when he cut a promo about the Royal Rumble in 2000, and he ended up winning it!

f The Rock guarantees something you can pretty much take it to the bank.

18. The Rock: “Who in the Blue Hell Are You?”

Yes, we are only halfway through the Rock’s many catchphrases.

This question was usually asked when the Rock didn’t know someone.

Well, when else would it be used?

17. The Rock: “With the Millions..."

“With the Millions “(and Millions!)” of Rock’s Fans, All Chanting His Name”

“Rocky! Rocky! Rocky!”

16. The Rock: “The Rock Is the Most Electrifying Man..."

"The Rock Is the Most Electrifying Man, in Sports Entertainment Today!”

Maybe this should say; “The Rock Is the Most Electrifying Man, via Satellite Today!”

15. The Rock: “You Will Go One on One with the Great One!”

How many ones does he need to use? Rhyming one with one is not that clever.

14. The Rock: “Know Your Role and SHUT, Your Mouth!”

Used when someone was speaking out of turn, this soon shut them up and allowed The Great One to finish speaking.

13. The Rock “Well You Can Take (said Object)..."

“Well You Can Take (said object), Shine It Up Real Nice, Turn That Sumbitch Sideways, and Stick It Straight Up Your Candy Ass!”

I never got why people had to turn things sideways before shoving them up their bum.

Nevertheless this was one of mine and many other’s favourite catchphrases from The Rock

12. The Rock: “It Doesn’t Matter What Your Name Is!”

If The Rock ever asks you what your name is, it’s probably best not to answer.

11. Edge: "Spear!"

This became a catchphrase when he began to shout it in the corner of the ring whilst pulling his hair.

The audience loved it and joined in every time...until Christian started doing it.

10. Hulk Hogan: “What You Gonna Do, When Hulkamania Runs Wild on You?”

Hulkamania certainly was running wild during the 1980s and Hulk Hogan made his opponents worried by promising to unleash this superhuman strength—while all the Hulkamaniacs cheered him on!

9. Vince McMahon: “You’re Fired!”

He used this recently on golden boy John Cena due to the CM Punk situation. Over the years, it has become more and more grizzly. I predict that in a few years it won’t even sound human.

8. Bret Hart: “I’m the Best There Is..."

“I’m the Best There Is, the Best There Was, and the Best There ever Will Be"

Not far from the truth, this catchphrase epitomises the typical self praising attitude we had all come to expect from the business.

Most would argue that it was well deserved, however, after Bret "Hitman" Hart carved a legacy for himself, and paved the way for guys of his small body size to make it in the business.

His technical wrestling skills displayed in all those years led some to believe this catchphrase held a lot of truth.  

7. Steve Austin: “And That’s the Bottom Line, Cos’ Stone Cold Said So!”

This basically meant that what Steve Austin says, goes. Who am I to argue?

6. DX: “And If You’re Not Down with That We Got Two Words for Ya! SUCK IT!”

DX were one of the most popular groups to come from the Attitude Era, and this was their favourite catchphrase.

Followed by a crotch chop, this was a blatant sexual reference that would not survive in today’s product.

5. Stone Cold Steve Austin: “What?”

I said...oh never mind.

4. The Undertaker: “Rest in Peace”

Fits his character don’t you think? When the Undertaker spoke these chilling words, whether it was on the Titantron or in the ring, you knew someone was going to meet their demise.

The time when this catchphrase was at its most chilling was when he was feuding with his brother Kane in 1998. It heated up the feud and the crowd really easily.

3. Ric Flair & Kurt Angle: “Woo!”

I’m prepared for the backlash I will get for putting Kurt Angle’s name on here, but you can’t deny he used it as much as Flair did.

Flair’s woo, however, is more legendary, and you can still hear it every time a wrestler chops his opponent.

It echoes through the arena like Flair himself is there.

2. Stone Cold Steve Austin: “Give Me a Hell Yeah!”

Hell Yeah!

There wasn’t one person who wouldn’t shout this when prompted.

This usually led to many decisions allowing Stone Cold to do something he wanted.

It had more power than the Chairman of the company.

1. The Rock: “If Ya Smell!... What the Rock...Is... Cookin’!”

If you can, then there is nothing wrong with your olfactory sensory neurons.

This is probably the most famous catchphrase uttered by The Rock, and was used at the start of his entrance music.

Everyone shouts it with him when he is acting as a face.
