NFL Fantasy Football Week Eight: What Have We Learned?
In an abbreviated version of "What We Learned," we go the conservative route. Who has shined in ways that do not necessarily light up the fantasy scoreboard? And could a perennially elite player once again see glory after watching a teammate rise to the occasion?

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Andre Johnson is the best fantasy wide receiver this year.
True, Johnson has only two touchdowns, but, then again, the Houston Texans are only just now finding their offensive groove. The touchdowns will come.
The more important consideration is that Johnson obliterates all other wideouts in receptions and yards. True, T.J. Houshmandzadeh trails by only two receptions, but only Wes Welker and Brandon Marshall are even close after that (56 and 54 receptions for Johnson and Houshmandzadeh, respectively, and 49 each for Welker and Marshall). The yardage difference is not even close, with Johnson leading second-place Greg Jennings, 772 to 685.
Now that Houston is scoring some points, look for Johnson to add more scores to his ledger, which would pull him away from the rest of the wide receiver pack.
LaMont Jordan should be worth waiting for.
Jordan might still be available on a lot of your waiver wires. Sure, you might be thinking, "Well, he's on the waiver wire for good reason." However, with Laurence Maroney out on injured reserve and Sammy Morris likely out for a considerable amount of time, the three backs left for you to consider are Jordan, Kevin Faulk, and BenJarvus Green-Ellis.
The Patriots would like to save Faulk as a third-down specialist, leaving only Green-Ellis and Jordan. Though the Patriots rave about Green-Ellis, he was terrible against the Rams, rushing for only 16 yards. That should give Jordan plenty of opportunities to stake his claim to the starting running back position, if only he would get healthy.
Monitor his health closely, but he is worth picking up for now, if you have a bench spot available.
