Floyd Mayweather Being Sued Yet Again, Allegedly Ordered Bodyguard Attack on Fan

Henry MartinJun 27, 2011

Floyd Mayweather Jr. (41-0, 25 KO) is facing another lawsuit, adding onto the plate of legal woes he's currently facing.

The lawsuit could become a distraction for his upcoming fight against WBC Welterweight Champion Victor “Vicious” Ortiz (29-2-2, 22 KO).

This incident adds to a long list dating back to 2009, when Pacquiao began his defamation case against Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Floyd had accused Manny Pacquiao of using performance enhancing drugs to win all his recent fights. He also faces charges of domestic abuse from his past girlfriend, for poking a security guard in the face and for threatening to shoot security guards for touching his cars. Mayweather is also in trouble with the IRS for failing to pay up to $3 million in taxes during 2010.

According to ESPN, Floyd Mayweather is being sued for directing his bodyguards to attack a man at Las Vegas Casino on March 27, 2010 after he asked to take some pictures with Floyd.

The man who was attacked, Anthony Cliff, claimed Floyd ordered the attack on him, accusing him of being disrespectful to him.

The lawsuit claims that the bodyguards allegedly hit him in the face, slammed him into the ground then kicked him into his back and sides repeatedly.

Recently, Floyd skipped out on a judge who ordered deposition for the Pacquiao defamation case.

Floyd Mayweather isn't doing himself any favors with the legal troubles and lawsuits he's amounted during the years. He constantly complains about him being demonized in the media. He has voiced his disappointment in his fellow Americans for not standing by him the same way Pacquiao's countrymen stand by him, despite his claims to do everything for the red, white and blue.
