Dallas Cowboys Just Now Realizing 40-Year-Old Quarterback Not Cutting It
Who was the genius in Big D who thought having 40-year-old Brad Johnson as the backup quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys was secure enough to keep the team afloat in case of an injury to Tony Romo?
According to ESPN, the Cowboys are just now realizing that Brad Johnson is too old, and really just not very good, to be the backup for any NFL team. The article is so ridiculously late that I barely take it seriously.
Let’s be honest, the Cowboys are darn lucky to have won that game against the Bucs. Johnson threw for just 122 yards and the Cowboys gained 172 in all, the fewest amount of points ever in a victory for the Cowboys. Ouch. The problem is the Cowboys do not have any deep threat potential with Johnson taking the snaps. He cannot throw the ball deep, and he certainly cannot avoid a pass rush that we are sure the New York Giants will bring this weekend.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
"Dallas (5-3) apparently has little interest in former Vikings quarterback Daunte Culpepper — who excelled with the deep ball — as he failed to impress for Cowboys offensive coordinator Jason Garrett while both were with the Miami Dolphins.
"
There apparently is just one more game, and the bye week, the Cowboys will have without Romo. All that’s left is Brooks Bollinger, who will have more mobility in the pocket than Johnson. Johnson’s experience is proving to be worthless for the Cowboys right now. What is the harm of bringing in a kid who has less experience as an NFL quarterback, but who has had many weeks, several months, to learn the playbook–a playbook that has been recently dumbed down considerably because it was confusing receivers in routes.
The Dallas Cowboys play the New York Giants, and putting in a quarterback like Johnson spells doom. We saw what that defense did to the Steelers quarterback Big Ben. He was sacked five times and he threw four interceptions.
Let Brooks Bollinger star. A loss would not spell doom for the Cowboys but it certainly would keep their backs pressed against the wall. Apparently, that does wonders for the defense.
