Saints-Chargers: New Orleans Saints Brees Past San Diego Chargers
It was the second year in a row the NFL has played a regular-season game in London, in an attempt to try and attract more overseas fans. Last year saw the New York Giants play the Miami Dolphins.
Living here in England, we don't really get to see much NFL action, so as you can imagine, when it's announced there is going to be a regular season NFL game here in London, people tend to get rather excited.
Although last season, in my view, was a bit of an anti-climax. It was a rather defensive clash between the Miami Dolphins and eventual Super Bowl winners the New York Giants. The Giants edged out on top, winning 13-10. I wasn't really convinced and decided to stick with real football (ok, soccer to you guys).

This season, however, was rather different, as the crowd at Wembley was treated to some great offensive play, as the New Orleans Saints were victorious in their 'home' game, beating the San Diego Chargers, 37-32.
Quarterback Drew Brees, playing against the Chargers for the first time since leaving them in 2006, was inspirational for the Saints, as he tossed three touchdowns to help his side to victory.
The Saints had led for most of the game, though the Chargers used two fourth-quarter scores to keep it close until the end, ensuring the Wembley crowd would be in for a few more thrills than in last year's game.
There were big expectations of the game this year, as the popularity of the NFL seemed to have gone through the roof. Over half a million people applied for tickets for this game.
And the tickets themselves were like gold dust. The first sale of tickets happened in May and all 45,000 sold out in 90 minutes, with the second phase of 15,000 selling out in just 30 minutes during June.
So it was inevitable then that there would be big expectations of this game here in the UK. And it was a thrilling game that certainly did live up to it's expectations, with Drew Brees coming back to haunt the Chargers and leading his Saints to a fantastic 37-32 victory.
