Mike Singletary Will Make 49ers More Disciplined
Mike Singletary has done something that you would never see Mike Nolan do. He has gotten in the face of his defense to let them know that what they are doing is unacceptable and that they need to start playing better.
Expect the 49ers' defense to play better after the bye week because he will have time to transition to his way of coaching, instead of Nolan's.
The defense had played horribly and allowed two short passes to Leonard Weaver that were turned from what should have been minimal gains to two huge touchdowns, one of 43 yards and the another of 62 yards. Both plays were preventable.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Expect Singletary to give the defense an earful about those plays. It's embarrassing to see a fullback on any team beat you once, but when it happens twice it's just sickening.
The second thing you'll notice is that Singletary is all about discipline. Vernon Davis committed a stupid dead ball penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct by flipping the facemask of Brian Russell after a relatively nice play by Davis on a catch. It cost the 49ers 15 yards. Singletary, of course, was not too thrilled by Davis' actions.
While the offense was out on the field, Vernon Davis was kicked out of the game. He wasn't ejected from the game by the official; it was Singletary letting Davis know that you can't make stupid mistakes.
Although I do believe Davis said something after he got chewed out by Singletary for making that dumb mistake, the times are changing for the 49ers coaching wise.
Unlike Nolan, who was pretty much a player's coach, Singletary is going to be the exact opposite. He'll be there for his players, but they aren't going to be allowed to make the same mistakes over and over again like they were able to under Nolan.
