Top 10 Mistakes In Wrestling History
**Not including outside ventures. Cough, XFL, cough professional body building league, cough.
Over the years there have been plenty of great memories that will stick with wrestling fans forever. Rock vs Hogan, Flair's Retirement Weekend, Owen Hart Tribute, etc.
But then again there are numerous occasions we wished we could forget also. And since the best way to get rid of horrible images in your mind is to discuss and get over, I'd thought I'd open up the B/R couch for all to get that heavy weight of their shoulders.

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
10. Zach Gowen's WWE Career
Ouch. I know this might seem a little harsh, but this is taking the saying "Anything can happen in the WWE" a little to far. In fact, not only is the idea that a one-legged 19-year old kid could defeat the WWE superstars cross the line of reality, even for wrestling, but it takes the line and throws it out of eye sight.
I cringed every time anyone (err, Matt Hardy) had to job to him. How could you not see the cross body off the top coming? It took him two commercial breaks to reach the top (insensitive I know, call me a jerk and let's move on).
9. World Title Wins: Vince Russo, David Arquette, and Great Khali
Wow, if they're giving titles away based on the fact that you're a huge fan, I should be a 25-time champ (eat it Ric). Putting the belts on the likes of Russo, Arquette, and Khali did nothing for the business nor did it elevate any of them in the minds of the fans. Plain and simple, even transitional champs are disappointed...sorry for the name drop...Kane.
8. Sold! WCW
This was a sad day for all of us. Fans, wrestlers, the poor guy responsible for oiling up Hulk Hogan. All the possibilities were exciting, yet the end result never measured up. Instead of running WCW as a separate company, it vanished and the talent either became mid-carders or Target cashiers.
7. Goldberg vs Lesnar WM XX
What should've been the greatest match-up between two fiery big men quickly became one of the biggest washes ever. The fans got word that both were leaving the company, that it would be their final match, and they let the former stars know exactly how they felt about it. The boos were so loud you might've thought Madison Square Garden was relocated to the San Fran, the earthquake capital of the US.
6. Just Say No to Kurt Angle
After it was obvious that Kurt Angle had an addiction to pain killers, the WWE released him from his contract making him a free man. That's not the bad part, as he truly needed the help. But when he signed with TNA, someone should've went uh oh. With a legitimate star in Angle, TNA now has the drawing power to start asking wrestlers and viewers to Cross the Line.
5. Iron Sheik
Although Iron Sheik is no longer employed with the WWE, I hold them fully responsible for his actions. If they would've only put him over one or two more times against Hogan, maybe they could've saved us all from his ridiculous rants.
4. Scott Hall and Jake Roberts
While I'm blaming the WWE for out of work wrestlers who are no longer with the company, let's go ahead and throw Hall and Roberts on there too. Despite going to rehab on the WWE's dime, neither of these greats are able to get it together. God forbid you put the two of them along with Sheik on the same card... or maybe so. I smelling reality show gold...
3. Great Khali
I know. I know. He's already on the list. But really guys, he's that bad.
2. Steroids Controversy
They say history repeats itself and steroids continues to be the black eye in the face of wrestling. In the early '90s, Vince was prepared to run his company from jail as he was accused of dealing.
Now wrestlers are being suspended left and right for failing tests and receiving illegal shipments from online doctors. It's bad enough having to hear from those who aren't fans how "fake" wrestling is and now there handed more ammunition on a silver platter.
1. Every Second of WCW After NWO Split
This is hard for me to admit coming from the South where WCW was easier to catch than WWE. But the truth of the matter is, once the entire roster joined the NWO the whole company went down the tube. Blame Russo. Blame Bischoff. Blame the misuse of talent.
Blame whoever you want, but everything that was produced was bad TV. WCW stunk so bad I tried to get enough money together with all my friends so I could buy the thing and blow it up. The purchase of WCW by the WWE was a bittersweet moment but every second before was pure rotten.
