NFL Power Poll: Week Seven
MJ KasprzakOct 21, 2008
Again, here are my votes for the Bleacher Report NFL Power Poll organized by Shaun Ahmad, even though they may not be submitted in time this week.
- Tennessee Titans: As the only unbeaten left, they are an easy choice.
- New York Giants: Only one blip on the season so far, they seem to have all the components of a repeat champion.
- Pittsburgh Steelers: Getting Big Ben back makes them all the more dangerous.
- Buffalo Bills: Anyone who thinks this team is not for real, comment here to place bets against them.
- Washington Offensively Named Ones: Perhaps that bad loss last week wasn't as bad as we thought.
- Tampa Bay Buccaneers: With Garcia under center, this team is solid in all phases of the game.
- Carolina Panthers: They answered a lot of questions with the resounding win over the Saints.
- New England Patriots: Cassel may not be consistent, but when he is on, they have enough to beat anyone.
- Arizona Cardinals: And they've been this good without Anquan Boldin.
- Philadelphia Eagles: The bye week couldn't have come at a better time for this banged-up team.
- Chicago Bears: They are showing offensive skills and have a defense and special teams that can score; this team is dangerous.
- Atlanta Falcons: They have the balanced offense, with Matt Ryan performing better than anyone could have expected.
- San Diego Chargers: 4-3 in my book, they are still too inconsistent.
- Dallas Cowboys: Serious problems in the defensive backfield and the locker room, but they'll still have a great offense once Romo returns.
- Green Bay Packers: Showed what they can do against a team that cannot run the ball.
- Jacksonville Jaguars: All their games have been close either way, but they have a couple quality wins.
- Denver Broncos: I will say it again until it is no longer true (and they keep proving me right): THE MOST OVERRATED TEAM IN FOOTBALL. Remember, they're really 3-4.
- Indianapolis Colts: How can one guy make as much of a difference as Bob Sanders seems to for their run defense?
- Baltimore Ravens: With a rookie quarterback from Division I-AA or whatever the heck they're calling it now, they will have ups and downs.
- New York Jets: If the wrong Favre plays, they could lose to Detroit; if the right one does, they could beat Tennessee.
- Minnesota Vikings: This team still has no quarterback, and even their defense must be questioned after the Bears ripped it apart.
- New Orleans Saints: A great passing offense but too many questions outside of it, especially with Bush's injury.
- St. Louis Rams: With a 2-0 record over winning teams since Haslett has taken over, this team may be good enough to compete in the NFC Worst.
- Cleveland Browns: Explain to me how not wanting to divulge it was a staph infection was an insult to you, Kellen? I'd dump him this offseason for whatever I could get; he's been a pain since being drafted!
- Miami Dolphins: Still much improved over 2007.
- Houston Texans: Their brutal schedule may not be so bad if the Colts and Jaguars are this beatable.
- San Francisco Forty-Niners: Dumped a bungling coach, but still a bungling organization.
- Oakland Raiders: See above—what is it about Bay Area football?
- Seattle Seahawks: Hit harder with injuries than the Packers.
- Cincinnati Bengals: The best kind of opponent: They'll give you a battle, but also a win.
- Kansas City Chiefs: Without Larry Johnson, this team is even worse, but they are better in the long run for standing up for the right thing.
- Detroit Lions: They will not be favoured once the rest of the way.
