49ers Fire Mike Nolan, Fire The Yorks As Well
What most 49ers wanted to happen for a while now has happened. Mike Nolan's tenure as 49ers head coach has come to an end. After the poor performance by the 49ers against the New York Giants. Many 49er fans figured it would come during the bye week.
This is not the case the 49ers Owners stated that it was time for a change and according to Chris Mortensen "The 49ers owners were tired of the franchise losing." Which I find interesting because the owners allowed Norv Turner to go after the 49ers 7-9 season and there was actually hope for the team being even better after that, but instead Turner left to coach the Chargers.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
The owners were the one's that allowed for GM Scot McCloughlan to go after Nate Clements and sign him to an 8 year 80 million dollar contract. Not that Clements was a terrible signing he is a solid cornerback, but the 49ers had more pressing needs.
The first need was to upgrade the offensive line something that hasn't happened recently. Not since Frank Gore's huge 1695 yard season and that was when the 49ers went 7-9 in 2006.
The second need is for a quarterback. J.T. O'Sullivan has shown flashes on why Mike Martz was so high on him, but most of the time he has just flat out stunk. He turns the ball over way too much, makes poor decisions, and is not being supported by his teammates. The 49ers if they were smart should have traded draft picks to pick up a quarterback with some starting experience like a Derek Anderson who the Browns are just waiting for Brady Quinn to develop.
The third need has been for a wide receiver and that hasn't happened either. They had a chance to draft Desean Jackson but did not. Josh Morgan seems to have huge potential but is still extremely raw. Isaac Bruce is a solid signing to help with the younger receivers, but not enough of them have stepped up over the years. This includes wide receivers like RaShaun Woods, Darrell Jackson, Ashley Lelie, Bryan Gilmore, Taylor Jacobs, Rasheed Marshall, and Johnnie Morton.
The fourth need is to retain an Offensive Coordinator for more then just one year. Alex Smith made huge strides underneath Norv Turner and Frank Gore had a huge year as well. Once he was gone the 49ers brought in a coordinator who had absolutely no business being in the NFL. Of course he was fired after the year and that brought in Mike Martz.
The fifth need is to fire Greg Manusky as defensive coordinator. The 49ers defense should be one of the stronger points to the team. They have an excellent tandem of cornerbacks in Walt Harris and Nate Clements. An excellent set of linebackers with Patrick Willis leading the way. The defensive line is the weakest link in the chain, but Manusky doesn't take advantage of Patrick Willis's athleticism. He should have more then 1 sack at this point in the season. Rarely do the 49ers put any type of pressure on the quarterback and there's no wonder why so many points are scored on the defense.
Those five things would have helped Mike Nolan out immensely. The irony is that the 49ers owners stated that they were tired of losing when they haven't actually done a thing to help the franchise to becoming better. They refuse to spend money on players and coaches to help the 49ers succeed and become that dominating franchise.
